So I need some servos for my MBX5R. And I'm sort of lost on selecting which ones is suitable for a 1/8th scale buggy.

I'm looking at the Hitec HS-5955TG for steering, it's got a transit time of 0.15 seconds and 333 oz of torque, and the HSC-5996TG for throttle, it's 0.10 seconds at 139oz.

Is 333oz useless torque for buggy steering servo, is 0.15 too slow? Would a steering servo with 181oz of torque and a .14 transit time be better?

Is 0.10 seconds for throttle/brake too slow?

While it may be a little more than you need, IMO, you can never have too much. That servo sure seems much faster than what it's indicated at. Another thing, I run it in my 5T and use lipo packs unregulated so I'm putting the full 7.4V to and it's insane fast and has even more torque.

You don't have to worry about the voltage hurting the servo? 7.4v Lipos peak at about 8.5v, thats a lot O_o

i ran lipos as well unregulated and it fried my jr 650 servos but they are a cheaper servo and it actually took a few months to fry them.
