I resently brought a havoc (2nd hand) and its a pain to start. It will only start if the rear wheels are off the floor, as soon as they touch the floor or if you apply the brake (so the wheels stop) it cuts out. The wheels do spin when it's started and off the floor. I was told by my local model shop it was the clutch shoe so I changed it for a brand new one and it still does it ? Could I be the carb adjustment's need touching up ?

I will try and upload a video on YouTube of it.

Here's a link to video

Could it be to do with needing to change the clutch pin bearing's for the roller bearing's and using some grease ? As i took it all apart and the pins were dry and no grease on them what so ever.

Why the clutch keeps trying to engage ?

Either the clutch shoes are broken and dragging the bell (not likely since you just changed them) or the clutch spring(s) are broken/weak and allowing the shoes to open at low rpms or the bearing(s) need replaced.
I never was a fan of needle clutch bearings and much prefer standard ball bearings when they can be used instead of needle bearings.

Thank you very much for the reply. I have only just changed the clutch shoe and spring. So surely it can't be that as it hasnt had a proba run yet.

When buying the roller bearings instead of the needles do I need both

As I don't think I have the spacer from U2956 ?

Not sure on your model specs.
What I do is remove the needle bearing and measure the ID of the clutch bell and OD of the crankshaft and match it with ball bearings that fits the bell and crank. I use 2 flanged bearings 1 inner and 1 outer for the bell.
