Ok, I have an NTC3 with "the fix" on the front and rear diff housing. I am switching to a different chassis and have run into a problem. The screws from "the fix" have stripped and I can't use them anymore. It is the two black flat head screws circled in the pic. They go through the diff housing and lock into the aluminum cap nuts (shown bleow).
So I need to get these screws replaced. I looked on tower hobbies, my LHS, and the internet & couldn't find anything. The screw size is 4-40 x 1-1/4 inch flat head machine screw. I don't want to spend another $20 and buy "the fix" again, when all I need are some $2 screws.
I went to Lowe's yesterday and found some 4-40x1-1/4" Pan head screws that would work. However, the head will scrape on the ground due to the round head shape. So it will work, but not very effectively. I will use it as my last resort if I can't find the proper screw.
All you machinist out there, do you know where to find a 4-40x1-1/4" Flat head screw?
Thanks.
