I offered up my place on the craiglist. I am totally blown away with how many people accross the nation are opening their homes to victims, there are THOUSANDS!

It does not matter where you live...you can help arrange transport if you care enough.

If you even have an extra COT and can spare a few square meals for even one person...place your listing on the craiglist - now.

now the cynical side of me worrries about all theads offering space for children i see a situation ripe for abuse ....i hate that you have think about that

& what about the people offering space only to *** or lesbien people...whats up with that?

On a serious note.
I did read some of the ads and was cynical as well. On my end I'm a bit to selfish and careful to open my home to people I don't know. What a great opportunity for a scammer to come and take everything you own. Its times like this when people see an opportunity and go with it. Its to bad that the few have to make it difficult for the many who need the help. I will guarantee you we will hear some related stories about this kind of issue in the near future.

Ed, I agree. Due to a trend among certain types, I have had to retreat from exposing me and my family to immediate charitable offers of help. So sad, too. I can offer so much, but the chance of abuse is so ripe, it is not worth risking.

I think it is great that people are lending a hand like that. I can see it backfire on the good samaritan, too. Stealing... kids tearing up your stuff... phone bills... stay a lot longer than they actually need to. Besides that, a person's privacy is a sacred thing.
It is hard enough to help close friends and family that way. Been screwed over pretty hard doing that. If ya have the balls to do it, I wish the best of luck. You are one hell of a person. Hope it works out for ya.

How about a fund we could donate to??? Anyone researched this? Maybe have a "sticky" on the front page of the forum? Can we do this? 5,268 members here. From 5 or 10 dollars, to hundreds of dollars. We could and should help!

My offer for members of this forum still stands if they need a place...I nkow there were only a few from that region.....I couldn't see letting total strangers in my house at random...that's just asking for hell to break loose.....most of the people on the news didn't nessesarily give me a warm fuzzy about letting them crash at my place.....

We sent offers to people that we have some connection with. I have Red Cross collection cans in my stores as well. If you feel the need there is a link at the top of the forum for the Red Cross. If your going to send a donation in the mail, make sure you mark it to go to this disaster or it will go into their general fund.

i agree with eddy. Must be free of all diseases, sexy as hell, willing to wear nothing but panties and pay for housing with your body. The GF will just have to deal, its for charity after all.

For real tho, nah man, no way in hell I'm letting strangers live with me. Hell, I dont know how many of YOU guys i'd let crash after a night of hard drinking let alone live with me. Especially Diver and Ratzo... I'd come home to all my RC equip missing and an abused GF.

Hell guys, I had a buddy leave with my wife, kid, new car, and all my furniture one time. He wasn't even living with me! Paybacks are a bitch, though... He is still married to her. Is miserable. My kid is 20 now and would rather beat around him around his head and shoulders than look at him. I don't wish anything bad on either of them, but it brings me joy to see them both miserable. :devious:
