Well guys,

I am getting on an airplane tomorrow morning 7am EST on my way to spend 5 days in San Fran. My wifes cousin is getting married this weekend. I have never been to California. I hate to fly however.. I am going to be a nervous wreck! As soon as the plane shakes I start to have panic attacks. I hate turbulance. I am also flying with my wife, son, and 18 month old daughter which ought to be fun! Wish me luck!

Flying isn't really all that bad. If you're in 1st class you get all the free booze you can swill. If you don't like the bumps in the air, pretend that you're on a bus and that it was a pothole. If that doesn't work take a nap. The only time I worry is when I see the pilots heading for the door wearing parachutes.

Have a safe trip and a fun time in San Francisco.

Hey Tom, have a great time. I have always wanted to visit California myself, but never got and further west than Talladega :D

Talladega is on my short list!!

I don't know how safe flying is.... at least in a car crash I have a chance of surviving! If the plane goes down.... not a real good chance. I am already starting to panic and the flight isn't for almost another day.

Take a few xanex or valium and you'll be fine :D

Doc gave me some xanex to take but when I tried them this weekend to see how it would affect me... and nothing! That is when I really started to get nervous. My wife told the doc not to give me valium. It makes me very loopy!

I have never been to San Francisco before... or California for that matter. If I could only be lucky enough to have two good take offs and landings... I am actually looking forward to seeing the sites of the city and california.

That's why you take it! lol just take more xanex then, and chew them up instead of swallowing them, just have something drink lol!

I may be the only loopy guy on the plane at 7 am! LOL

We will be out there Wednesday Morning and we are not leaving until Sunday afternoon.... Anybody have any suggestions on where to visit while out there? Any RC tracks with rentals? LOL

Have a safe trip Tom. Our first storm of the season will be passed us by the time you arrive tomorrow. You should be in for some clear and sunny skies after tomorrow.

Since you have never been out here you can do the whole tourist thing at Fishermen Wharf. Eat at the Rain Forest Cafe. Your kids will get a kick out of it.

Other things of interest in SF is the King Tut exhibit and the very cool CA Academy of Sciences. Both are in Golden Gate Park.

You can also walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, but dress warm if you do. A ferry trip out to Alcatraz is also an option.

I was in san francisco sunday after we went to the monterey bay aquarium. It was packed cause they had a air show, presidents cup golf tournament, the 49ers playing and some other stuff. There is a lot to do there. Make sure to visit fishermans warf and peir 39. Oh and bring your money. Its not cheap. Dont expect to pay less than 20-40 bucks to park for the day down by the warf. Try to tour alcatraz its awesome. There is litteraly hundreds of things to do. They have brochures telling you all of the stuff. On the warf there is places such as the wax museum, ripleys believe it or not, street performers, oh and hooters ;)

Thanks guys for the information. I have been doing some research for the last few days just to get an idea of what is out there to do. It was overwhelming all the different things to do out there. I am thankful you guys were able to help narrow it down a bit. I appreciate it. Hopefully we miss that storm all together!! Did I mention I hate turbulance! LOL

Just think of turbulence as a roller coaster ride when it happens.

Except I am not 20 miles above the earth in a roller coaster. You guys don't understand... I turn ghost white, sweaty palms... and have been known to swear out loud. I litterally freak out... it is not pleasant.

You're B.A. Baracus from the A-Team!

Just messing with ya Tom.

Stay awake as much as you can tonight. That way you will be tired enough to fall asleep during the flight.

omg I'm the same way on planes like this summer me and my mom and sister went to fly down to my grandparents and both ways was like constant bumps in the air, what i did was go and stand in the bathroom while the bumps are happening and make yourself pee because i did that and when the bumps and goin on and your peeing, when your standing your like shaking back and forth so i was peeing all over the seat and hysterically laughing i made myself pee more but that worked for me at least!! haha have a safe trip though, i told myself after that trip i wont be on a plane for at least another year or two cause I'm now horribly afraid of them!! but maybe youll get lucky?

Yes! You are going to have to knock me out to get me through this flight! LOL

With any luck your pilot will be a VA escapee named Murdock. That guy could fly even though he was crazier than I am.......
