On Saturday I took the trip down to see the Nascar Whelen Modified Tour in Oxford, Maine and had an amazing time. I had garage passes and got to meet my favorite driver Jon McKennedy. We chatted for a bit during a rain delay, shook his hand and got his autograph on one of my tools! Later on he dominated the race too! I just thought I'd share some photos.

You drove down to Oxford?! Lol! Its an hour and some north of me.

Looks like a great time! How was the weather? We had rain.

These cars look so 'Mad Max' built! I love them!!!

Yes, Oxford is about a 2 hour drive south from my area definitely brought snacks for the road haha. It did rain a bit before qualifying and so they qualified by the rulebook instead. Nascar brought track drying trucks and only took about 45 minutes after the rain stopped. When the race started it was actually nice and sunny. I love these cars so much and super glad I went and I hope they'll come back next year 😍

The vid looked like it was a fun race to be at. It would be great if they race here again next year, I agree. Maine needs more events like this!:thumbs-up:

Track drying truck, eh??? I wonder if anyone makes a 1/10 scale version yet. 🤔

What are those late models?
They’re asphalt modifieds. Compared to lates, they run a different chassis and are obviously open wheeled. They’re lighter, faster, louder and more fun to watch than latemodels.
