I've been contemplating the purchase of the GS CL-1 buggy. It looks real nice and it's not terribly expensive ($566 from the GS site) and GS is stocking all the replacement parts for purchase direct from them.

Anyone have any thoughts, or even better experience with it? I've enjoyed my Storm and I plan to continue to use it but it's always fun to have a new toy. GS has always been responsive to me when I've called them and I like to support good companies by continuing to buy from them.

Thanks in advance.

Ever since the redesign on their site I have a hard time finding anything. I looked around but I couldn't find the CL-1 - I'm probably just missing it. I've gotten a lot of Storm parts from them in the past although right now all their CL-1 parts show as Not Yet Available.

ps. It's www.horizonhobby.com =)

cl-1 is available in europe since 30 june at 690 euro ( : 850.00) :arrr:

in us will be available only from say 30 august..
at 529.00-540.00 :)

ordered one but did not build it yet
seems great
good quality of parts, all tuning parts you need, simple to assemble diffs to change oils, driving great , low cg :classic:
see also site :

mbx5 or xb8 are better equiped and better value for the money though in europe

got mine

seems very good made especially the chassis
sturdy suspension parts
but screws and bearings are somewhat not commun

assembling is a bit confusing at first
due to screws and shimms, being all around in all sorts of bags
(which is which)
and seems little faults in the us manual (but correction added)

I tenth to prefer assembling the different units first, like rods and rodends or antirollbarrs on their own , and merge them later with the rest

Allen and other screws seem ok
but tighten sturdy
so one must take care and use good tools
not to strip heads quickly I think..

little bit of play of rear inferior suspensionarms on their pins but they mount easily....play is supposed to be

all rest seems ok and very sturdy

rc-nation.com is usually cheaper. steve is a good guy. the gs loox nice, as much as i like GS (had 3 cars from them since gettin back in), the jammin at less money might be the real sleeper.

I have noticed many people from across the pond saying this. Someone said that a Hyper Pro UK costs similar to a Prospec or a SP2. Whats with that? Do Americans get good deals on Hypers and GS cars, or are we getting ripped off on Kyosho and Mugen prices?

in europe a xb8 latest version costs 749 euro now
before you could get one for 625-649 euro
in the us 650.00 = 552 euro
a xbr 465.00 = 380 euro
in europe 525 euro
but you get 4 tools worth 40 euro, a fuelfilter, 4 spare shocksprings, all 4 milled susp.holders + rear torquerod, 6 HD cvd's.....

a gs cl-1 cost 690 euro in europe
in us 549.00 usd = 439 euro
you get 2 torquerods yes but no fuel filter, no real tools, got to buy 3 milled susp. holders because stock are cheap plastic, costs + 120 euro = 810 euro

for a while now
the latest and full option hyper 7 pro aigon/uk you can buy in europe for 349 euro all goodies in

latest mugen mbx prospec sells 749 euro in europe
older ones 695 euro
690 in us = 565 euro + parts are extra cheap

777 sp2 sells 625-645 euro in europe
in us 659.00 = 540 euro

a TTR S3 sells 475 euro cheapest, normally 545 euro
in asia even 299 euro

jammin x1cr sells 520 euro in europe
529.00 in US = 420 euro
in asia 299 euro

I don't get it neither
the euro is better valued than the dollar 1.22/1
so all should be cheaper in europe ???!!!!
perhaps it are the silly billys of the E.U. with their ridiculous importtaxes ??

So actually, by your numbers the Hyper IS cheaper then after all. I was posting on a different forum, and someone mentioned that the Hyper wasn't that much of a deal for them beause it cost as much as the K cars or the Mugens. Maybe he had his numbers wrong or something.

normal price was 630 euro to
but since arrival of all these new buggys
and relaps of sales and and hyper8 in view
prices dropped last 6 months to as much as 345 euro
