As far as solder, I have 3 rolls of super thin stuff I got at the flea market. Each roll is 6 lbs. Ill have to double check but I think its 60/40.

The price was right, 4.00 total and it will last me the rest of my life. its so thin, I have to fold it in 4ths and twist it together for most battery jobs. Its great for Deens plugs. Its so thin it feeds real fast and doesn't leave a mess. I would rather have thinner then thick.

That is a great deal. I'm considering getting one. I currently use a big old soldering gun with the fine tip.

As to ultrasonic cleaners, I have had one for years (almost 20 now). For those of us in the model train hobby, they come in handy for cleaning parts, but more so for painting or re-painting. Besides cleaning items, it also degreases well before you paint. The ultrasonic action gets into all hard to get to areas and unseen areas. Plus, it is not material sensitive, by that I mean you can put metals, plastics and even some other materials (glass) in it and it is safe to use.

Well, based upon current needs (3 elec TC's) and the desire NOT to wait for a delivery, I went and picked up the 936 ESD station along with Ed's recommended 900 tip. 114.00 out the door (Tax included). Not bad for being impatient. Thanks for tip, guys! (no pun intended)

Good choice.
The larger tip makes a world of differance.
Clean the tip after each time you touch solder with it.

Ed, what temp setting do you like to use for that tip and Dean's solder?
