we got it all loaded up, i forgot i also gave him my set of silicone inserts rather than the foams, the truck feels so much heavier nw, its definately going to flip back a lot less, and i thin the front will keep more contact when hauling things in the trailer
while i had it opened up i reloaded the blue jelly to the axles, the jelly that was already there was as i expected.
the grease inthe portalls was black and gunky but i have so much packed in the axle that the diff gears are still nice and shiny blue no water has gotten into it

Working on 3rd set of front axles jeez Louise we are hard on these
So far is the only part we've broken
The panhard mount snapped clean off on 3 axles we just installed the 4th set
Gotta bite the bullet and get some aluminum axles for him
Vegeta worked on this one himself this time
I just pointed and helped with the final twist on the screws
Win or fail this one was on him and he had zero hesitation
He knocked it out of the park I'm VERY proud of him

What about SOA and 4 link conversion? At least it wouldn’t break at the panhard mount

The son and I hit the trails and my gd controller unbound on the redcat.
So he got a solo run in I just followed him with the camera for the drive in them I drove out when we had to turn around due to lack of light

Nothin' better than wet clay to try and get traction on. A BIG kudos to the "Vegetagoat" for not slipping, I would have been on my butt for sure.

hey hey!! were back to work on the basecamp, the agenda: fix the steering.
the steering servo on the basecamp is too close to the chasis, requiring a specific horn that drops down to go under the chasis when you turn left. its got a lot of flexand gets in the way. its lent to other breakages about each time its broken if I'm remembering correctly, maybe not the exact culprit but it played a part i think.
my son consistantly breaks the panhard mount off as well as the axle housing itself, but ALWAYS on the panhard side of the axle.

so i decided to switch over to a servo n axle setup for him.
i ordered and have gotten the mount which will relocate the servo, remove the panhard bar, and hopefully give him some more steering angle. it will go from 3link to a 4link.. i did not think about this untill i had the mount mocked up on a broken axle to check for fitment!

i need to make another link! i am 99% certain i have one on hand. BUUUUUT this is a chance to order a set of high clearance links for the truck.. but all the sets o see are 3link with the phard, id be short 1 link.....
injora sells individuall links tho so i may order a full set plus 1?? is possible

but as I'm typing this a new issue, the skidplate isnt designed to take a 4th link.. maybe just screw it to the rail , that should work.

Good to see the Basecamp getting some love. Servo on axle is a good idea, the 4 link might be tricky.
