I decided to keep the TC5 but i went ahead and castrated it. Thats right, no freakin balls anywhere (except the bearings). Thrust and diff balls are gone and i have a spool in the rear and a one way in the front.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!! Its just an unbelievable powerhouse and the belt drive coupled with the sensored brushless setup makes power transfer smoooooooth like butta. I took it out today and started running it up and down the street. Once i got the alignment right, i started making faster and faster passes. Believe it or not, the car actually went airborne on one of the passes. I am positive it hit a bump in the road but either way, it was a good 3-4 inches off the ground for about 3 feet. It looked like it was just floating by. Now onto the problem.

The setup is a TC5, novak GTB esc with a velociti 3.5R brushless motor, maxamps 2S 6000Hv lipo, spool rear, oneway front, TC4 nitro tires.
I have way too much torque and way too much top end. I can burn all 4 tires with ease and yet i haven't had the car past 60% throttle. I have nailed it a few times but just for a split second because it breaks the tires free and the car spins out of control. So now i'm not sure what to do. I can epa my throttle down and raise my pinion a few teeth i guess. (21T now) But it just nags me knowing i have untapped power. I have about a week to decide what to do because i snapped one of my cvd drive pins in half today  I am getting the LRP motor cooling setup and new cvd's (should i go Ti?)

Anyways, i am tired of typing. lets hear your thoughts

You could put a mamba system in it, still have massive power, only you'll be able to program and fine tune the power output to push the car to the limits yet still maintain drivability by tuning the power output using your computer. I'm currenty workon on my setup in the T4 so that I can get max power on my racing surface while still maintaining some traction

Sounds pretty intense.
If you gear it lower, for less speed, you will be smoking the tires more on takeoff. If you gear it higher, you'll get a smoother take off, and even MORE top end. You might need to set up a wing on it to give it some down force. A small bump at high speed will surely flip it, and it will be a very long skid on it's lid.

until castle starts to sensor their motors, novak is the best in my book. The firestorm is great for a basher but you still get a split second of lag from a dead stop. The novak is perfect and smooth everytime. The GTB has alot of custom tuning as well as preset tunes but i think the problem is beyond tuning. The throttle curve MUST be consistent from 0-100%. I'll have to get a video of it sometime for you guys. Its just insane.

it is pretty crazy. jaw dropper for sure. I have a wing on one of my bodies so i'll give it a shot tommorow. Believe it or not, i think i will have the same problem the firestorm has. The car is so light that once it gets going fast enough, the downforce from the rear wing actually makes the front end want to pick up.....

You may also have to add ballast weight up front to keep weight on the wheels for steering control at high speeds. That's always a good problem to have. :)

as soon as my cvd rebuild kit gets here, i will be fine tuning it. I don't know how much i will be running this car. Its lethal. Gonna spend a few hours today with a bottle of bearing oil and some q-tips. I'll get pics later

I agree electric has came light years from what it was back in the 80's with my aluminum bathtub RC10. I had some tires that my Mamba Maxx 7700kva would actually lay down rubber on take off......it was too sweet....so as you can guess I ran 'em to the rim leaving burn out marks every where......however on a personal note to self.....back patio is off limits for burn outs unless I want to sleep out there......yeah....oops. Hey Savage think you can get some video of a couple high speed passes on that thing? Too much power=too much fun!

i would love to get some videos of it but i have to get it stable first. it gets SUPER squirrely after about 40% throttle. These TC4 tires swell alot more than the slicks i had on before. I am going to dig through my parts and try to find something i can use to rebuild the cvd's with. If i can fix it, i will try to get videos tommorow

well i was able to cut a drive pin from my old ax-10 and get the cvd fixed. fixs like a glove and that thing is STRONG!!!!!! I'll try to get a video of it tommorow.
