Hey guys,

getting a RC10GT for cheap but it needs a new engine and transmission and rear shock mounts and some other stuff (it was runned over on the back side).......I'm new to this hobby this will be my first. I was wondering were a good place is to buy parts for it and an exploded view of all the parts on the truck.....since I'm new and will need to see an pic of the parts so i know what to order. Thanks

Well, a good starting point is the fine site ran by one of the admins here at RCNT: http://www.rcdocuments.com/ Pretty much all of the RC10GT (first gen, not the GT2) rear ends are the same, part number wise. There are subtle differences (like the axle carriers), but for the most part, since you'll be doing the whole rear end, you should be alright with the newer manual (if it has a flat blue chassis, you're good).

Now, as for parts sources, I prefer towerhobbies for bulk orders, such as the one you're going to be placing. Altho, ebay is great, if you have the part numbers.

Also, since you're going to be rebuilding, now is the time for option parts. A good place to start is the driveline. MIP CVD's are a definite plus. Also, get anything RPM (tower will give you substitutions on each part, if availlable, so you'll be able to pick and choose). It'll only add to the toughness.

Hope that helps! And welcome to the forum! I myself have an RC10GT, and it's the best truck I've ran. It was my first nitro, and I'll never part with it.

i like tower hobbies because when you place you order you get it the day it says you are suppose to get it. And they have a really good selction of parts plus the discounts help out too lol

I'd try one of the local hobby stores. Bring them the car and most of the time they will tell you what you need. Plus you dont have to pay for shipping.

Um with the description you have given... have you verified the chassis is straight? You may need that part before you start anything else!

A local hobby shop would probably charge him more for the parts than a new kit. At least going online, he can save anywhere from %30-50, and not have to pay taxes (depending if the order house is in the same state as he is, or not).
