Hey Tweak, See you are on. Guess everything is ok?

Hope nobody lost anything major. Almost a tropical storm now.

During the fire a little girl got hit by a car and an older man had a heart attack. In the little news I have seen a bus blew up, killing 23 of the 34 passangers onboard. Brake problems combined with oxegyn the elderly were using. As for looters, no one. lucky them

yea, great to see your ok man. I heard about that bus on the news. Some elderly people had oxygen tanks and they blew up one after another.

Any damage to your property?

I'm back. I'm one of the luckier ones. It only took me about 6 hours to get to Palestine taking every back road possible. Normally its a 3 1/2 hour drive. We probably went 100 miles out of the way just to stay away from traffic. I know people that were in their cars for 26 hours and only went about 20-30 miles during that time. On the way back we passed about 90 to 100 cars that were ran out of gas on the way out of town on HWY 59. I shot video of them.

What a mess. Glad its over....for now.

you need to get that video and the others ready.. we can't use rita as an exuse any more lol

LMAO..no doubt!..I'm waiting on busted now...its outta my hands now!!! lol

I made it back early this morning.

Okay, here's the bit, We left thursday morning ~2:30am. We made it to austin at 10:45pm. For all of those who don't know where I'm at, this is normally a 2.5 hour drive. People were breaking down left and right on the road for numerous reasons, out of gas, overheating, ect.

After it was all said and done, we traveled home today at (again) 2:30am and made it home in three hours with light traffic. We went down 290 as the main "artery". I pulled up to my house to see it untouched. Not one shingle missing! Just a few minor limbs in my yard from my neighbors' trees.

Well, I'm unpacking now, and I'll get with wannarunem to get our vid out.

Cheers, I hope other people on here from this area have good news to come home to also.

BTW: I'll never bitch about houston traffic again!

my next big purchases will be..

(3) 5 gallon gas jugs....can never have too much liquid gold.

A generator...man forgot what it was like without power for 2 days....which was no big deal. We went 2 weeks without power in Hurrincane Alicia (I think i mentioned that earlier.)

I wish i would have shot more video of the whole ordeal.....One hundred mile traffic, cars out of gas, crowds of people walking down interstates. It was surreal!!!!

We just got all of our services back wooo hoooo! It was an interesting weekend, 80-100 mph winds, trees falling, crap flying and a lot of Crown & 7up. The property is ok and everyone is safe. I hope everyone else has the same luck as I did

i lost the big tree out on the corner of my lot. and my water well tank got knocked over.. how i dont know.. that thing weighed over 800 lbs.. were still in austin waiting on them to clear dayton area.. was planning on going back tuesday but they are still telling us not to.. the plan was to wait till we had power because of the well, no power = no water, but now that my tank is fubared then i stil wont have water

so far i think my house is fine, just the tree and the tank. good to see you guys got back ok.. busted I've been trying to call you all weekend with no luck..

i for one am really happy to hear you came back to a house LOL

i know i was one of the first to give you greif about the pull. i didnt know you were friends with beason & wanarunem, thought you were just another newby with high hopes

dont worry about the video to much ...get everything back to normal first ...2.5 - 3 hours wont kill us LOL

Hope everyone is well. Saw some places got it pretty bad. Hope your lives get back to normal quick! Good luck.
