Can anyone tell me what exactly a fuel filter does? It looks cool. And thats all i know. Can someone help me out? I might wanna get one for my rusty But i need more info and any suggestions on a good brand. Does dynamite make fuel filters? LoL...:wtf:

A fuel filter is a must! It will keep any small particles of dirt or whatever gets into your tank from getting into and destroying your engine. Yes Dynamite makes a fuel filter, its a screen type. There are also stone filters, these will filter even smaller particles of debris out of your fuel.

Here is a search on tower hobbies for fuel filters. I have a Du-Bro on my rustler. Du-Bro has many color's to suit your needs and a DuraTraxx on my t-maxx. Du-Bro has a smaller but wider onr DuraTraxx is longer.

Hmmm wider... or longer.....

Mayhem...your not packing the fudge as they say, are you??

(not that theres anything wrong with that)

if you get a fuel filter make sure you clean it on a regular basis. use some denatured alc. and a can of compressed air.
if not it will restrict fuel flow if you get alot of debris in your tank

There are certin brands that are one-way flow. There should be an arrow on them. can't remember what the Brand Name was, I seen at my LHS?

i also have a du-bro and it seems to work well. theyre only about $5-10 and can make your engine last longer and run smoother, so a fuel filter is definatly worth it.

Sullivan makes a great filter for the price - its clear as well so you can SEE whats going on inside at all times. Good for knowing if something is in there AND good for seeing if there is an airleak etc..

robriguez why don't you stop crapping up the public forums with all your :spam and take it to the bashing forum.

Yea Dynamite make a fuel filter, I'm also currently using one of them, They cost a dollar more than the Du-bro and simply they just work better. Don't use air to blast clean the screen. You will ruin the filter if you do so. It widen up the gaps in the screen, which it isn't good. Kyosho also make very nice and qualitied fuel filter, but they are over priced.

i havnt had to open in yet, its pretty new. I'm thinking maybe you'd be better off getting a brand new one for $5 instead of opening the old one, it seems like the fuel could leak out on the engine, or something else could happin. seems like theyre cheap enough that its not worth the risk.

so to answer your question, i havnt tried opening mine yet.

Fuel filters keep the junk ( or bits of eraser :hehe: ) in your fuel tank from getting sucked into the carb.

Clean fuel good also the fuel filter hold more fuel so when ya flip on your top it will run little longer b4 it run out of gas :)

Tks guys. Also: I've seen some twin engine setups and they had three fuel filters. On at the tank and one before each engine. SHould i get two for my brick? or my Rs4?

One reason guys will run several large filters is that they will hold alot of extra fuel giving you longer run time in a race. One filter is sufficient.

thanks, but...anyone have any links to the dubro filter? Mayhem? Thanks.
