Hi Everyone, How's it going? I know it's awhile since i last posted any new ai arts but this evening i made a couple of new ones based on My Pokesona and his mom Dorrie-Chan both posing next to a couple of classic cars.

This one of my Pokesona's posing next to his 1990 Cadillac Sedan Deville which is based off a car i got to take photos of and even sit in when i was 11 y\o back in 2011 and i always wished i could have bought and restored that old Caddy.

This one of Dorrie-Chan is her posing next to her 1982 Delorean DMC-12 which was her all time dream car. Since she got to ride in one which she was in her teens in the early 1980's since her dad\my other grandad worked for a car dealer for short time.

wow wow wow, hold up, 80's and definitely a 1990 car is not a classic car.
in any case, i have an idea. Serena driving a pink 59 Cadi underwater. idk why that sounds amusing but it does.
In Florida they give classic car tags to cars 30 years and older.

The Delorean one speaks to me 😁. Very nice!

Most people consider cars around 25 years or older as antique or classic cars and also some states event have an inspection and emissions exemption for vehicles 25 years or older. But Cali and Arizona have exemption status for vehicles around 1981\1976 or older.

1990 was not over 30 years ago.
an idk why you would need classic or historical tags in Florida, as i understand it there's no emissions testing state wide.

iv always considered "classic" cars as pre 1975. ie, pre emissions BS, or at least pre "gas crisis". pre lots of BS governmental regulation and safety testing. analog and carburetors.
not sure what the laws are for "historical" tags in CA. but 1975 and older vehicles are (currently) exempt from emissions testing. so there's no need for "historical" tags. i know they've been trying to get an exemption for vehicles pre OBD2 because its an expensive pain in the ass to test them, but as per usual the elected window licking paste eaters keep shooting it down.
the parts of Arizona iv looked into ether don't have emissions testing or the cut off was 1967. which for anything 68 through the mid/late 70's would require some kind of classic/historical/collector car registration.
i know Nevada (at least Vegas) it's 67 and older were emissions exempt but it was pretty easy to get classic car tags (which exempts the vehicle from emissions testing) for anything over 25 years old, but do to abuse they've been majorly cracking down it for the last decade.

iv always heard that emissions controls weren't federally mandated until the 1975 model year (although most manufactures started rolling stuff out as early as 1970), if true having to test anything older than 1975 is straight up pointless and stupid as hell.

It's 2026.
1990 was almost forty years ago.

Where I am classic starts at 25 years old.
I see a lot of old Hondas now that have them on them.

I went through the process with this bad girl to get the classic plate; it was pretty easy.
It provided additional insurance benefits that regular just didn't provide.

To your comment about 1975 and emissions, this has a non-functional air pump on it.
I suppose if that testing was here or you had this in California it would have to be functional?
From my understanding it just pumps warm air into the air hat to help in cold weather 🤷🏼‍♂️

California doesn't care if its a $6000 piece of tinfoil that directs a southernly breeze over the left valve cover, only on leap years. If its emission related, it HAS to be there AND function.

As far as that $5k valuation, our Focus will need about $4500 in audio upgrades to qualify.
I'm sure the neighbors will approve!:thumbs-up:🤣

no, 1990 was not almost 40 years ago. math is wrong. ( :hehe: )

technically in CA the pump would have to be on the vehicle and hooked up. but you wouldn't have to have it tested every 2 years like a everything newer than it is. so in theory you could take it off, you'd probably never get caught, but you would technically be breaking the law.

In MI it's 25 years for historic vehicle plates. $30 for 10 years and a break on insurance surcharges!
But you're only allowed so many miles per year on those plates right?

Yeah, The Delorean is a cult classic that had somewhat flawed origin with it's creator doing very illegal things like selling and shipping pot and coke then his company ended up declaring bankruptcy in 1983. But the Delorean's legacy and being used as the main car in the Back to the Future franchise has given it the status of an 80's icon. Also a guy from Texas bought the whole Ireland factory worth parts for these cars and they planned a few times to bring them back but never did.

If he'd stopped selling the cars and kept to the drug dealing, he'd prob still be in business. 🤣

Wasn't it the FBI that set him up?

I could be misremembering
I don't remember either.
I know there were supply chain problems with these cars too.
They ran out of engines I think. Lol!

Running out of engines seems like a good enough reason to smoke tho. 🤣

Then again, I just smoked because its Sunday. 😁

I also made a new version of my Pokemon persona with his Cadillac this one is more accurate with the better quarter vinyl top. I made this one last night before i went to bed.
