This was my experience as well. Borderline toy grade.
How is the Gorgon borderline toy-grade? It ticks all of the boxes like bearings, oil filled shocks, etc.

The only notable fault that stood out to me were the intergrated shock towers, and most of the chassis being two pieces. Kinda makes it hard to design aftermarket parts.

For me personally, in order to be a good basher, I need a good aftermarket parts following.

I also need the ability to easily modify 'stuff' for mounting esc, receiver, etc.
That chassis (gorgon/granite voltage) was not easy to modify for me. Too modular and platform specific.

Maybe it's just me....

I think the Gorgon is meant more for the parents that just want to get a cheap "hobby grade" 1/10 RC for their kids, while the more expensive models are the ones really meant for customization (Boost, 3S, etc). It's in that same category as ECX, Duratrax, Redcat bashers, etc.

Agreed. Maybe 'toy grade' was the wrong term. Entry level? Beginner level?. I view it as a platform you can't fully upgrade. And I'm just not a fan of that chassis. But to each their own.

I do think the gorgon looks cool.

Good choice Traxxas has a wide availability of parts at the local hobby shop
Yup. Going to the lhs is important for me. I like human interaction and buying all online is boring for me. My lhs has armma too but he prefer traxxas for obvious reasons.
