Ok, todays challenge was figuring out how to mount the body. At first I thought I would use foam blocks with magnets on the sides, but after mocking it up it wasn't going to work as planned so had to use a different approach.

Oddly enough, the method that I went with is one I didn't think was possible. I used the original mounts from the Redcat body with some modifications.

First up the front mount, used longer screws and attached it to a stryrene I-beam I had in my supply stash.then glued it into the front of the body after checking correct positioning.

Next up was the rear body attachment, pretty much did the same thing, screwed styrene I-beam to the mount. While it was in position.

Next I glued a magnet on the inside rear of the body, and another to the I-beam.

The magnets grip nice and solid, I didn't need to use the magnets, I could have just glued more styrene to the body but this was more convenient.

Everything sits nice and tight, while still allowing me to use the original mounting system and latch.

As you can see it's a good solid mount.

I think the next step will be paint, see you next time :)

I hit the trails today with the Ascent 32. For such a little guy, it did better than I expected. Quite a capable little rig. Still need to finish the body but wanted to give it a spin.
