So I had a E-Maxx roller laying around and decided that I wanted to complete the project and convert it over to the Brushless. I went to my LHS and purchased the Brushless Motor System which ran me $300. I have been hectic with work and traveling so I decided to have the LHS finish the project for me. They called me yesterday and told me it was going to be $525 to complete the truck... What I didn't realize was that they meant $525 on top of the $300 I already spent... To me that seems way to high even if you upgrade the drive shafts and some parts to handle the brushless motor. Any input on this?

You can buy a brand new brushless RTR emaxx for less than that.......

Sounds unrealistic to me. Maybe you could request a list of upgrades they intend to do and how much of a labor rate are they charging you?
