ez start problems

Hi everyone i need help and was hoping i could get help well ok here it is i have a t-maxx and i replaced the one way bearing and a new ez start motor and everything and when i tighten the glow plug and i hit the button on ez start it trys to start and quits after a second now if you loose the glow plug and press the button it works but as soon as you tighten the glow plug it stops what could it be :whhooo:

Flooded. Take glow plug out and turn truck upside down then push ez start button for a few seconds to clear excess fuel from cylinder. Then put plug back in and try starting again.

Try to clear it, like Zdragon stated above, and next time you go to start it, preheat it with a heat gun or hair dryer.

ok the hair dryer work so whats that mean do i have to do that evertime i start it or try to start it

You'll have to do it until the engine is broken in, once you get it broken in and tuned, you shouldn't be so rich that you flood the engine.

this is a diffent qustion but how do you get the idle gap just right

Turn on electronics and hold brake. With the filter off and looking into carb adjust screw until the gap is only about 1mm or the thickness of a paper clip. Once set you never need to adjust again. Set your idle when running using the LSN.

well ok and the hair dryer work for awhile and then it still wont turn over and its not flooded it just wont turn over the hair dryer work for alittle bit then it wont turn over what wroung with it i dont understand

Is this a universal thing or a tmaxx thing? I'm kinda new at this and think I screwed up my idle earlier today

And is the motor supposed to be running when you do this? don't see what the brake would do otherwise.

So then where do I find what to set my idle to on my trx 2.5? the factory settings thing doesn't say anything about the idle screw.

Pretty sure its the same for both. Thickness of a credit card or paperclip as said above. And as far as the original problem of the ez start not turning the engine over. Check all the possibilitys, check the batterys power with a voltage testor. Check all the connections, in the wand, the plug on the chassi and the connection to the ez start motor itsef. I have seen 2 ends on the ground wire to the motor break in 2 days. Just check all possibilitys. U can also check to make sure your getting full voltage at the motor end of the wires with a voltage testor when u plug in the wand and push the button.

The 1mm gap is, for the most part, universal for all nitro engines. You should read the tuning chart in the nitro forum, it's stickied at the top.

When i was having ez start problems I thought about getting a pull start but if you can get it working properly you will like the ez starter a lot.

I ditched the ez-start within a week of owning my revo and have never looked back. It is so nice not having to keep that stupid wand in my pocket when I am out bashing.

Yeah i came to the same conclusion after a week. The difference in effort to start it was not worth the extra weight in my pocket and on my car.
