When ever I go to turn on my tmaxx it will start find with the ez start when the car is cold but after running for a bit it won't start like the ez start motor is hot from the car engine. Is this true or does my problem lay somewhere else. And if it is true how can I prevent it.

Your EZ Start should not get hot when starting up engine... On a normal basis you should only have to have your EZ-Start Wand pluged in for a short time.. No longer than about 30 seconds.. From what your explaining I think your cranking over the engine TOO LONG thus heating up the small EZ-Start motor... I think your problem is your engine is not Tuned properly check your LSN & HSN setting's I have an EZ-Start on my MAXX & I have never overheated.

You need to be careful also because continuing to turn the ez start for long periods of time will burn it up. So do as the above stated and check your tune. Resort back to factory settings on carb and refer to the tuning chart in nitro talk stickies.

No by heating up i mean by being mounted right next to the car engine after a run the ez start is hot and then wont work

well it works just not enough to start the engine

Make sure your battery pack for ez start is charged fully. Or it may have a bad cell. When mine gets weak it wont turn my engine fast enough to start it.

u can also check both the terminals on the battery and in the ez start. Alot of times the female ends will split apart from plugging and unplugging the battery alot. Maybe they need just a slight pinch to make good contact. Also have u tested the volts on the battery while this is happening?

Okay I know my engine tune is close enough to being tuned properly so the engine should start but it only starts when cold. I think the one way bearing may be slipping but why does it start when cold.

Need some info about "doesn't start".
Does the starter motor just spin?
Does the engine turn over but won't start?
Does nothing turn at all?
Have you tried loosening the glow plug when starting?

The engine turns over but doesn't seem to gain enough speed to start. And yes I tried loosening the glow plug.

Like i said charge the ez start wand battery to a full charge. If it still doesn't turn engine fast enough then you either have a bad battery pack or something is binding the engine. Hell put a pull start on it and glow igniter and see if that works if you have one or pull engine off rig and turn flywheel and see if it feels like the pinch is too tight or something is binding when you turn the flywheel by hand. But it really sounds like the battery is too weak on the wand. If mine is it wont spin my engine fast enough to start it either but i charge the thing and it works fine.

the ez-start has the gears made to tight. take it apart and grind clearance on the gears
