I have a brand new ez start on my 3.3 and I'm having an issue where I will go to start it and the engine will turn over for like a 2 second burst and then nothing. The ez start will not work even if I hold the button down. The battery is brand new and fully charged so I know that's not the issue. I also completely disassembled the ez start and inspected all the gears and everything is in good shape. The one way bearing also works the way it should. I have no idea what the problem is.

When you say it doesn't work..... does the unit stop spinning the motor, does the starter spin but not the engine?
The cheesy start and the 3.3 together are known to have issues flooding. Take out the glow plug and turn it upside down and spin the motor and confirm that's bit an issue.
If that's not an issue, check the yellow ground wire and the red and black wires to the starter.

Seems to me like the engine may be flooding and hydro lock.

What size battery did you buy for the ez start?
Have you actually tested the battery voltage with a meter? A new faulty battery isn't totally unheard of.
I would inspect all the wires and contact to be sure they are clean and tight.
Make sure the battery connectors are good and snug! The Tamiya style battery connectors were problematic 40 years ago!
If you take the glowplug out and try to crank it, the starter will crank without issue?
Once it cranks and stops, can you turn the 3.3 by the flywheel by hand still?
What you are describing is pretty much what my ez start did every time the battery started to die.
Current flow is where I would focus.

Yes with the glowplug out it will crank without issue. There's no issue turning the flywheel by hand. I got this tmaxx used on ebay. I got it running and have already made a few passes at the park until the motor mount bolts came undone. After getting new bolts installed with loctite I went to start it and started having these issues with the ez start. I suspect the issue might be with the charger I'm using. Even when the engine does crank with the ez start it seems weak. The battery is new.

I would double check your install to verify the pinion mesh.
If everything was fine and now its not, double check everything that was disturbed during the last work. It makes some sense that the issue lies there.
Mesh is important to check in a few different spots on your flywheel in case your flywheel isn't true.
You def need to get a meter involved here. You need to verify voltage before you try diagnosis.

I just remounted the engine and made sure the flywheel aligns with the transmission gear and this is the result. I also replaced the wiring harness but I'm still having the same issue. At this point the only possibility i can think of is a faulty battery, charger or starter box.
