ez start acting weird

my ez start ,when the engine is cold, will only spin the motor while turning the engine on and off, 1 sec of engine turn and 2-3 sec engine no spin just the ez start motor spins. this is only when cold after its warmed up it start within a second, whats going on?

You need to take out the one-way bearing and clean it with denatured alcohol or non-chlorinated carb/brake cleaner. For safety sake if you use the brake cleaner, shoot it full of wd-40 immediately afterwords. They say the non-chlorinated stuff won't hurt plastics, but I don't trust it enough to just let it sit in there. I usually do this twice, after the first time I put the bearing on the shaft and spin it by hand a few times then repeat.

He's absolutely correct. The OWB is slipping due to oil buildup.
