First off thanks for looking even if you can't help I appreciate the fact that you tried. My current project is I'm trying to out a XTM .18 engine in my spare truck which is a Nitro Sport, I've hit a bit of a brick wall while trying to get the clutch assembly from the Pro.15 engine to work, the shaft is longer than that of the Pro .15 which uses a bull nose nut that has a grove for a clip at the end., the gear sits on the bull nose. Unfortunatly the bull nose nut bottoms out before getting close enough to the engine, I tried a clutch nut from a TRX 2.5 thinking this would solve my problem but the shaft isnt long enough to stick through the gear (clutch housing?). I'm down to wear I'm out of ideas and will either have to sell the engine or try to cut down the shaft neither of which is exactly a very appealing option. Can anyone give me a better option than the ones I have???

I think you are having problems because you have two different type shafts. I have the XTM 18 in my drift NTC3 and it has a Threaded shaft. The shaft I think you need is the SG shaft or a Threaded shaft with a pilot shaft on it.

Do some research on the two types: Threaded shaft which is what you have now and the SG Shaft.

actually I think your exactly on the money, is it easy to change that or should I just sell it and get a diffrent engine? Could I use the one out of the Traxxas engine???

The stock engine actually uses a threaded shaft it just has less threads and is shorter, with a SG shaft I could use a TRX engine clutch assembly nut though.

yup thats ther differance between traxxass and most the other companys. most the others us SG, while traxxas uses a clip. maybe you can turn the motor mount around, or try a universal motor mount to get the clearance needed.
but check how your mesh is going to be.
