Depending on the engine, 5 tanks may just be the beginning. I've had quite a few (usually the more expensive ones) not calm down and tune well for the first gallon and are still pretty tight that entire time. It takes time, so don't rush it. Plan a good full morning getting an engine to the point that you can drive it. Then until you get a gallon or so through it, don't run it too hard, as in, not a lot of extended wide open throttle runs. It's easy to over rev it too early, especially in a single speed buggy as they are very light for the power pushing them.
