i would love to get my emaxx driveable but I'm having big problems with the evx.

my problem with mine is it acts crazy, reverse is fast but forware barely moves. even with the motors away from the spur they will barely move. the batterys are brand new and charged. it shows a red light instead of green and cuts out. i tried resetting it using the traxxas video but it doesn't work the way it is supposed to.. i havent messed with it in awhile, but i can get a detailed account of what happens if someone needs it..

its the older evx and not the new stuff in the video so maybe that has something to do with it.

i just can't justify $60 on a new evx without making sure this one is dead. if someone has the reset instructions for the older one that may be helpfull....

any ideas?

Try reversing the throttle on the transmitter and then programming the evx.

didnt try that rob, i figured since the wheels turn the right way when i hit he throttle it was set right.. but the evx goes red even if the radio is off. if i hold the button to set it goes through the lights but as soon as i touch the throtte to set it the light goes red...

Also make sure your end points for both throttle and brake are set to maximum before you program the esc.

If you have a different motor, hook it up and see how it responds. I second what Robmob says; it could be that the throttle channel is reversed and confusing the EVX.

I am pretty sure that is the problem with going slow forward and fast in reverse.

I had the same problem on my EVX, HV-Maxx and most recently, my Mamba Maxx esc's.

If ti is going forward when hitting the throtle and going backwards when hitting thr brakes/reverse then it can't be reversed how ever you might check to see if the switch by the steering wheel is set to 50/50 but it sounds to me that your ESC is fried...

Actually, yes it can.

That is why you reprogram the ESC after you reverse the throttle.

thanks for that info Rob, I just have never experianced that in the 25 plus years I have been running electric rc's, learn some thing new every day...

I dont suppose abad is right and you've actually move the 70/30 50/50 switch by mistake. That would make a lot of sense.

well see I'm not using the stock radio, and i set up the emaxx on a fresh profile on the radio I'm using. so i dont think its the 70\30 - 50\50 switch since that should be set to 50\50 as default. i will try reversing the throttle and see what happens.. if all else fails monkey man has sent me a replacement evx. man i can't wait to get this thing going! i havent ran anything RC in over 6 months..
