Battery woes! Cell died while in storage.

Fair enough. I guess I feel obligated to play with them all, lol. 25 and none of them sit more than a month. My wife does play as well so that helps a bit. I also try to use batteries that are multi-applicational (is that a word?) so they all get used frequently in multiple vehicles.

I had that issue. It would not balance charge at all, said a cell was dead.
I blasted the battery with a full not balanced charge for 5 minutes and that woke the battery up.
Once it started charging again, I switched to regular balance charging.
It seems to be ok now.

With my luck it would catch fire.

Gonna give it a try... I put it on an extension cord to the driveway just in case...🤞

Wow... I just tried that and this is what I got after 5 minutes.

Well, the revived battery held up better than the buggy did... I hit a rut in the field at full speed and, did some massive cartwheels, and that rear shock came from together... it was fun while it lasted. I have to take a video next time. There is this mound I jump over and this thing flies 15-20 feet through the air horizontally.

Maybe just a loose wire somewhere. Was there error message before?

Weird indeed.
There was an error message. My charger couldn't read that cell, so it couldn't balance charge. Putting in unbalanced charge mode brought it up to 3.5v and then I put it in balance charge.

Thats just crazy to me. I would never store one that long. I use them too much.

I see some of the manufacturers claim up to 2 years at storage voltage under optimal conditions is OK. Far from ideal and I bet most folks dont store them in optimal conditions but to each their own. If your only using them once a year, whats the point in having them?
I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 lipos, due to buying lipos for testing purposes. I can't use them all even when I'm actively engaged in the hobby which I step in and out of periodically.
