is it possible to make an electric touring car, such as the losi or tc3 run as long as the nitro counterparts, without spending mega money? also - heard a rumor that 1/12th scale can run longer. is that true? i was thinking of getting something like that, so i can compete in several sections, during races, but also to bash with, when i dont feel lke getting grubby.

I would imagine the 12th scale would run longer. Less to push around.

As far as running as long as a nitro without spending MEGA cash??? I dont think so. I run just an electric Pede for my daughter and even with decent 1500mah packs it doesn't come close. So when you start looking at some really high mAh packs you are up to a 100 bucks. Then, the peak charger.... And so on. All for about the cost of a nitro mill.

The nice part about electrics is there are usually more indoor tracks to run on.

I run 3000-3400 mAh packs... NiMh, 7 cells, in my electric brick with a P-94 10T double motor and SuperRooster ESC

I was getting about 30 minutes a pack. Mostly full throttle all the way runs too.

(22t 48p pinion, and a 72t 48p spur... way way overgeared, but with the p-94, it hauled ass...)

thats a damn nice setup for a stad. truck . i have a 12t double speed gems diamond in my losi xxxt and i think a 19 pinion. i thought it would be too aggressive, but its not, I'm going to try to step it up soon i think. also, id like to know wherey ou got those packs and your charger, 30 min runs, is that in dirt or pavement ? thats a LOOONG run

These setups seem very expensive, I just wanted to get one, for both the stock racing setup at my local track, and to bash with when i didnt feel like getting dirty. Anyone know if there are decent batts out there for a decent price?

the orion rocket pack isnt that much i dont think ... they are 3000 cells ... illl ook for more and some prices

here is the rocket Pack ... 30 bucks

Rocket Pack

other good packs are dynamite

Dynamite

Scroll down to the Dynafun 3000

these are both good bateries just for fun , if you're serious racing, they could still be good, but a lot of guys obviously make their own batt packs

Ummm... I paid 79 bucks for the motor(around 20 so far in brushes), 120 something for the Novak, and about 60-70 bucks a pack(roughly 60 for the 3K 7cells and the 3400 was expensive.. oddly enough, I didnt get but about 5 more minutes of full throttle power out of the 3400 compared to the 3000)

Total, about as much as a T-maxx... nicely equipped....(I know, I'm an idiot... ):D

I have 3 7 cell 3000mAh's, 1 3400mAh 7 cell, 3 6cell 3000 panasonics, and a few dirt cheapies that I bought before I was knowledgable on the subject.

At one point in time, I was running a 30T 48P with the 72t 48p spur... It topped out at about 38.7mph. For an electric brick, that's great. The wheelies were annoying, and that was the whole reason I went for top speed... This is the same brick that I drove off the point of my roof... about 18 or 19 feet of air... didnt even phase it... landed straight and kept goin. Nitro drove me to the electrics, and brought me back at the same time..

Now that was some good reading

If you want to get rid of some of those cheapies (if better than 1500 mah nicd shark paks) Id prob be interested if they arent beat. I need a couple of 'better' packs for my daughters EPede. When that think goes it goes! Surprising enough for that little pisser. She has the one with the ESC too which makes it more fun for me to drive once in a while.

I'll sell ya 1 NiMh 3000 7 cell for forty bucks... it's been run, maybe 10 times...

never overheated either...
