I'm a very new to rc electronics. The only experience that I hold is in 1/24th scale slot cars.

I've been looking for something else in rc such as posibly building another with electric power

Motor: Hacker brushless...?

ESc's: ?????

Batteries: I'm lost past the gell cells, dry cells and hump packs for the nitro's.

My thoughts have been an e maxx chassis or even a mini mt.

I'm open for all suggestions. Would some of you care to comment. I sure could use some help and direction.

decide what scale vehicle you want I can help you with electronics as I have learned a lot. Batteries I am getting pretty damn knowledgeable also so let me know how I can help. Electronics will be very different for a 1/18th mini mt as opposed to a 1/10 or 1/8th scale electric.

I agree with blazer. Although there is great support in the aftermarket for both the E-Maxx and the Mini-T, when it comes to electronics the conversations would be a little different for the two of them. If you decide to go with the larger scale like an E-Maxx and you had a large budget, then brushless is the way to go. But we're putting the cart in front of the horse. Choose a size, or get it a little closer than either an E-Maxx or a Mini-T, and like blazer mentioned, lots of help is out there.

p.s. - are you set on electric or does nitro also interest you ?

Most toys interest me. An electric project would be something new to learn from.

I just saw an Emaxx run for the first time about a week ago. I was impressed. Totally stock, with 1500 battery packs. Wheelies.
With 3000s in it and a change of gears, he'd be able to run with the nitro boys.
He had the JR XS3i radio, same one I use, but forward and reverse were on the trigger, since it's an ESC, and the reverse button was a MANUAL shifter. Upshift or downshift any time.
I had several electrics through the years. Compared to nitro trucks, they are 'almost' maintenance free.

i have an e-maxx and i love it. i like the big cars though. i run on 3000 and they last me a while and like rolex said it gets wheelies once in a while. Like i said i love it and if ur up to the money i would defantly get one.

ps. the jumps are crazy for e-maxx, i was jumping almost 5 feet in the air and nothing goes wrong
