eBay Expedited Shipping Isn't Expedited At All

So apparently ebay now classifies USPS first class mail as expedited shipping. For those of you unfamiliar with first class mail, it's the equivalent of the shipping method in O' Brother Where Art Thou, doesn't matter where you live or where you order from, it'll be here in two weeks. Also, I now notice that a lot of my go to hobby shops (I live in the middle of nowhere, so I mail order EVERYTHING) on the bay have stopped offering priority mail, only first class, yet their shipping rates have all went up. Thanks eBay, you fail yet again.

On a related note, I just called my go to ebay RC shop, and they are not happy with ebay either. Not only is the shipping method advertised wrong, the combined shipping discounts aren't working either. They told me just to call from now on; easier for me, and no ebay fees for them so they said they'd sell me the stuff cheaper. Sweet!

I check the shipping specifically every time, I will only buy if its USPS Priority, unless its something I'm not in a hurry to get. They have listed first class as Expedited for a long time. ... .bastards...Atleast it isnt parcel though.First class is usually 5-7 days for me unless it comes out of the west coast, then its always just a couple days.

If I'm not mistaken shipping rate went up at USPS across the board. I believe thats why you are see the increased fees in ebay.

I guess they had to raise the postage rates because the price of ammo went up.

Hmmm, guess I"ve just been lucky that my go to shops continued to use priority till recently. Took 7 days after the seller shipped for me to get a package from Mississippi to NC, three states separate us.

I guess they had to raise the postage rates because the price of ammo went up.

Getting a shipping notification doesn't mean its shipped though remember that. I print all of my shipping stuff at home, which automatically sends the shipping info, but if I dont put it in the mail, no one will know that it hasnt actually shipped.

Yeah I know, it actually showed arrival at a sorting facility. But yeah, took me a bit to figure that one out when I first got on the bay SNG. Personally for an institution that's hurting as bad as the USPS, this isn't the way to fix it IMHO. I wish I could simply UPS everything.

ill still shop with ebay ... their lower prices compared to other online hobby shops combined with their shipping equals about as much as an online hobby shop would charge for just the item it self... just ordered a ps3 on ebay and shipping was only... idk 14 bucks ? not bad in my opinion... other rc parts shipping is pretty cheap.
