Hey everyone, I'm considering buying a new starter box for my brand new spiffy novarossi ns12s5 engine, since the compression on this fiddlesticker is really high... (excuse my language lol) anyway... I'm considering this dynamite made Torque Start, which looks very promising... here's the link for all of you

anyway... I have no idea on which battery and charger to get... I know that twin 6-cell packs are more ideal for power than 12v batteries... however, I do not know about what power rating to get (1500mah, 3300mah) anyone have any suggestions? and does anyone know any good chargers that charge two 6-cells at once without being very costly?

thanks!

I have that same exact starterbox. It has excessive amounts of torque and the 2 sticks would be just fine. The 12 volt is good too but it's also heavy as hell to lug around. I was going to go the 12V route till I picked one up. I stuck to the 2 stick battery.

I use this box to start my engine (OS .15 CV-R). No probs what so ever. Starts up in less than 3 secs or just after touching the starter wheel. Buy it, I highly recomend it.

just a question.. what kind of batteries did you pick up? i plan to buy the box now, thanks for your advice, but i'm not sure which batteries would be ideal for the box... what mAh rating is it?

I didn't buy mine brand new but it was barely used. I got it from a member here at RCNT. If my memory serves me correctly, I don't have it in front of me at the moment, I have 2 3000mah sticks in it. I wish I could remember the brand but it's too cold here in NYC to go to the workshop I have in the garage. Also, I have a quick charge AND a peak charger. I use the quick charge as a backup in the feild since it has aligator cliips that can be hooked up to a car battery. The peak charger is what I use regularly on the batteries.

alrite.. thanks a lot guys... especially Nickmpower for getting me a whopping 2400 mah, especially high for nicd batteries...

what charger do you suggest i get? i've seen a dual charger, charging two batteries at once which is convenient, however it doesn't have a discharge, which i feel is needed to preserve the life of a battery... in which case i feel i should get a single charger, one that has discharge capability... any ideas?
