hi guys, its me the computer idiot. I recently bought midnight club 2 for PC and it isnt working. The Technical help guy said to download a GeForce 3 driver or something of that caliber. Where can I download it for FREE and how do I use it. HELP HELP HELP.

Most of the GeForce cards are powered by an NVidia chip. All of these cards use one driver. No matter what PC operating system you have its pretty much the same drievr and in my experience it has always just autodetected.

But if you would like to download it yourself go here:

Thanks, how bout installing it and stuff. I really want to play this game by today. I've been drooling over it for about 5 days so far!

I've spent countless hours fixing pc's. If you need to get the most current drivers for a device look first at the manufacturer's website. If the company's been sold or the hardware is old you might be redirected to a place that has current drivers.

GeForce3 isn't that old. I think ALL GeForce cards are nVidia-based. Take Rob's link. If you choose the wrong driver the install will balk and say "this driver is not compatible for the hardware" or some crap and you'll have to take a second look.

A current operating system helps a lot. Win2k detects a lot of hardware. In some cases I've installed Win2k on an older machine and it recognized everything.

For those stubborn hardware issues go to:

This isn't a big secret.

Cheap-ass winmodems installed by retailers on older machines are the absolute worst cuz some aren't compatible with current OS's. Buy a 3Com/USRobotics if you're dialup! I recommend the US ROBOTICS 2976 56K V.90 PCI.

Winmodems use your processor resources while USR makes modems that have the required chipsets to handle the overhead right there on the card.

I fixed it by downloading the GeForce3 and installing it, but not it plays fine for about 1hr then it decides to shut off at a random part in a race. I just think thats my anti-virus program or my RoadRunner Medic going off, so its no biggie. Thanks Rob!!!

The "Detonator" driver from nVidia works on all Geforce chipped video cards as well as the TNT based cards. Gotta love a company that packages drivers like that. ATI was getting better, but they've slipped back to their old ways (complicated driver installs).
