does my gyro need to be centered?

I have always put the gyro in the dead center of my cars, but the AWD Sakura I'm working on rn is belt drive down the middle, so I can't. Where should I put it?

I don't think any of my cars have a centered receiver location and the built in gyros still work as intended.

As long as its centered the width of the car I think you'd be good. Lengthwise I image you'll probably feel some minor differences in reaction as the rear end swings. I would try it as close to absolute center as possible, then move it up as far as possible and back as far as possible, and take a few laps in between each. From there decide whether you prefer it forward or back, and start working back towards center until you can find the perfect spot.

Mine is off a good bit to the right-hand side of my 1/18 rig. Works just fine.
