I feel very strongly about a central U.S. location. Location is all about turnout, there's little payback in the use of all that can be done in a vacation town if it mrans thete will only be 4 of us there. a central location is not only convenient, but also cost effective for everybody.

But the thing is only being 15,
Getting it by the parents is the thing :(
I thought you said you were 13...

Anyways, I think it would be fun to have a get together. I would think it'd have to be a place with variety of location, like gravel for drifting/on-road, dirt for off-road, and a clear sky for flying.

One thing I would like to see the location have is a place for alternate activities. I imagine many people have families with/without kids and significant others that might not be into RC. It would be nice to have things for them to do while the boys are out playing. It would also be nice to have something to do after we are done bashing.

right on me and rollin are in.we will rent a car or whatever but i will definately have to bring the old lady

has to have rock too of course

Honestly I think we need to find out how far everyone is willing to travel first before we get to dates, times, or even places. Seems like we get these threads going and then people complain it's to far.

I say we find out how far everyone or most people are willing to travel and then find some place that can best suit everyone.

Of course I'm for Kentucky just cause that's where I'm at now, but again I'm willing to travel back to NY if needed, hell even to Cali and take Ed's wife out to dinner. So it really doesn't matter to me where. You can bet I'll be at least one of them for sure!

i agree with Woodie. we need to see how far people will travel before setting a place. personally depending on the timing and cost i'd be willing to travel to St. Louis or maybe Texas. I only mentioned Florida b/c it offered the chance for people to do a family vacation.

anyway, i'm good for late 3rd quarter 09 in terms of timing. distance, i'd travel 3-4 hours by plane

and you can party hard in texas

just everyone put in a place where u think it would be nice to have it. then once we see what everyone says if they have a few common ones then we could just go from there.

Also, Dallas Forth Worth is a major airline hub so getting flights there is easy.

but for those of us that are going to drive, especially from the north, Texas is a little far. I like kansas.

Absolutely not! The only way would be in a rig that had never had fuel in it. Not to mention you can not travel with fuel, and if I m not mistaken you can't bring lipo packs any more either. Flying with any rc gear is going to be a pia, but nitro you can all but forget. Your best bet would be to ship it to someone you trust that will be driving to the bash, then have them ship it back.

I will drive anywhere east of the Mississippi river. Cities such as Dallas and Orlando are pushing it but I would be willing if the turnout is expected to be plentiful.

I will not fly... that is to say I don't want to ship 4-5 vehicles.

I guess I am lucky in one aspect: While my job sucks it does allow me to carry two of my rigs so I will be ready in any event.

If we get a consensus we need to start a new thread to continue on with the plans. Just a thought...

You are from tha OKC area, charlie. What does the track situation look like in Oklahoma?
Big airport, and Brick Town is cool from what I hear too...
