Has anyone ever used a basher for dirt drag? I've got that rlaalo that I... crashed... Since it's pretty tore up I really don't "bash" with it any more. I decided why not make a nice little off-road drag truck, lol. I tinkered around and got it set with 1 inch of ground clearance. I moved the current ESC on top of the supports going down the middle of the car and slapped a larger battery into it. Helps with keeping all 4 wheels on the ground during launch. I am also gonna order some paddle wheels. wanted to upgrade the ESC and motor in it. But how do I tell the max torque/speed of a motor? I'm clueless when shopping for this stuff, lol.

I've been building a Kraton for non-air use.
The build aims to be a grass-shredding, no-jumps rig that can do straight-shot off-road runs.
There are not many people to race with where I'm at, so I'll be drag racing myself. 😆

The electronics look HUGE!!! 🤣

It's allllll battery lmao. Honestly since I wrecked it and don't wanna tear it up any more than it already is I mainly just run it up and down the street. Shockingly, that big battery didn't slow any thing down. It still hauls butt. I added the high speeds gearing in it. That's thats been a nice touch lol.

That battery is the same size I use in my 6s revo 3.3 elect. conv. !

I wonder if a bigger motor and smaller battery might get you more speed? Its a fun idea instead of just junking it of putting it on a shelf somewhere! 👍
I thought about that. But I'm clueless when it comes to choosing a motor. I don't know what the heck half them numbers means 🤣

We can help with that! 😉
I am still learning too.
I think for me, it was hard to forget the old info and replace it. Brushed and brushless are similar but not the same! 🤣

This could help and is part of a larger post...

This info is all you need to know. Read thru and ask as many questions as you need.

We are ALL still learning and tech changes every day.

Dirt drags for the Rustler back 2004-2005. Set up on a county access road along the bayou near home. Coned off 132ft length. No timer or GNSS back then. Just pulled trigger and let 'er rip. Put the hook into me for RC drag racing though. Good luck and have fun drag racing your basher on the dirt.

All my RCs run 2s with a 3s option, so hesitate to recommend any power unit packages for the brick battery you're running. :D -AC

Ok so going off of what I read.

This set from amazon should be quicker than what i currently have in my car.

My truck has a 3650 2650KV motor Paired with a 60 amp esc.
I believe this may be going to the other extreme.
I am not a drag racer so none of this is 100%!!! 🤣
I think you found a motor that may be better suited to an on road car. If I were doing this, I would personally shoot for 3800kv range. Its got good power and speed AND you can step most up to 3s like @ahr43 mentioned.
You can look at Castle. I think they had actual drag purpose escs on sale.
Be aware though, if you go that route, building a purpose built drag car, you prob won't get any 'fun running around' time. It will just go real fast for short periods of time.
Your budget and intention needs to get involved here I think.

There are drag builds going on right now as well as guys who are just coming out of hibernation. I strongly urge you to read some of their builds. You could ask them specific questions to drag racing that I can't answer too.

Drag racing seems to be getting huge here. I'm looking forward to seeing your build! 😎

Something that I can't help but at least recommend is that you keep it light and maybe not ultra fast. Its already broken, right? 🤔
The extra speed and forces that come with might blow your car apart.

@CertifiedMike, true true. I didn't think about it shredding the car more lol. And the car is already running 3s. I was actually considering going up to 4s with it. I may end up just pulling the hole car apart, bending the bottom plate back to spec, and then weld the plastic body support back together. I feel like ima to be too scared to really do anything with it until it is actually fixed. Plus it'd be a good learned experience in reckon lmao. But I do want it to go as fast as possible, while still maintaining its handling because it handles beautifully.

I feel like you should fix it back to stock to bash it and get something a little more "Bigger and sort of better". I would recommend a slash 2wd for that purpose. All you have to do is put paddles on the back, a wheelie bar, and a few tasteful upgrades! @johnnydmd is the king of nitro drag slash stuff. And if I'm not mistaken, @WickedFog built a brushless drag slash. I tagged them incase they haven't seen this thread yet.

The huge battery could prob be cut in half and still give you great runs, less weight=less damage & more speed.
Theres lots you can do to gain.
The 3800kv on 3s is NO slouch... just so you know! 😉
The chassis repair seems like the ultimate goal..
I can't urge you enough to stay away from 4s
Its too big, heavy and your driveline isn't cabable of handling it.
I saw a guy running a more or less stock Omni on 4s and he saw he was going to blow it up.
It will kill your truck.

It is a 1/10 "mini"... so yea it's basically a 1/12 4wd truck @WickedFog
And inwas worried about that with the 4s @CertifiedMike. I was ready that going to 4s even though it's advertised as 4s capable isn't necessarily good for the truck. Bet it'd go pretty fast before it was tore apart though 😁😆
