I just bought a Mugen 4XR works kit with a Picco Ofna 0-1 engine all for $300.. The engine is brand new still in the box and the buggy is brand new and about 40% assembled..

Did I get a good deal on it?

UMMMMMM, I dont know. It is a very outdated buggy, may start to be hard to get parts for. This is what the MBX-5 replaced

I have to think it's a great deal. Just because it's not the newest thing out doesn't mean its not a nice rig. The Savage X is still a hell of a truck, even though the Savage XL is now out, just to pick one of many examples.

I think Rolex is wanting to put the K5.9 in his pocket, so when he pushes and makes the engine noises, he'll have a little more oomph to do so. :D

Considering what they cost new, and this one is, it's a very good deal. I don't see a shortage of major parts for a while yet.

tgreaves, here's a link to the set up sheet for it.

Awesome.. Thanks for the info..

This is my first buggy and my friend told me "some assembly required"... err, thats an understatement for sure.. :whhooo:

Try to ignore the dorks who posted above. They just don't understand what it's like to have such a nice glass shelf.

Some assembly required? You're lucky. That means every single part is brand new, never been used. Building is the best learning tool, and one of the greatest parts of this hobby.
Good luck, enjoy it.

Awesome.. I'm gonna start building it this weekend.. Just curious, on average how many hours does it usually take to assemble a Mugen buggy?

I've never built a Mugen, so I couldn't tell you. Just make sure you keep all your parts organized, and follow the step by step directions. When you assemble your own, you get to fully understand the function of each piece, and adjust everything to perfection as you go. Eventually it starts to resemble the car, and that's when your pride starts to kick in. YOU built it, and very soon YOU will be driving it.

Thats what I was thinking.. My friend who I bought it from has alot of it together.. All the suspension and differentials are assembled.. I just need to install the servo mounts and battery boxes on it and then put the tires on it..
