Robriguez is also VERY hard headed! As much as I tell him to do things that's to his benefit, he doesn't listen. I'm talkin 25 years of trying to get poop through his thick skull and about going to doctors, but NOOO he doesn't have the need to go. It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother anymore.

#4 If you forget your medication one day DO NOT make any serious decisions commitments, or financial decisions. You could pay for those decisions for years.

You know what's funny? When i first read that statement, I wondered what the hell you meant. I mean, even before diagnosis, I acted/felt normal. But then the more I think about what you said, it makes PERFECT sense. I have always been a very impulsive person. I've had to borrow money several times because I suddenly wanted to buy something that I "had" to have. Never really thinking, "do i really need it and can i afford it?" Also, as i'm wriitng this post, i'd like to point out that i'm on a $1400 laptop that i HAD to have and still haven't paid off...lol

Do you often have days or weeks when nothing's right no matter what you do? You owe too much, you're ugly, you can't sleep cause you feel guilty about all the things you did when your a kid etc?

Do you have days or weeks when you are unstoppable everythings perfect your'e perfect your relationships are perfect. Your R/C is easy to tune and when it breaks its easy to fix?

Then wonder why a week later the exact opposite and you wonder why everthing sucks and everything is out to get you?

OH BTW you're looking at a guy who's paid years of his life for weekends of bad judgment

As a matter of fact, yes i do generally have ups and downs like that. Even when i'm most happy, everything's going right, i'll be depressed because I am happy. I have felt bad for things i've done even when i was like 5 years old..still think about some of it every now and then.

It's good that you are getting your ADD taken care of. The only thing I would like to add is, Clonidine is not intended for sleeplessness. One of the side affects of the drug is sleepiness, but it is a moderately strong antihypertensive. What that means is it will drop your blood pressure. If you are having trouble sleeping you need to address the problem that's causing it which is the adderall. Some doctors get a little carried away with adding one medicine after another.

i have 2 sons and one of them has add and the other one has adhd the meds they take are adderall xr 30mg and concerta 36 mg and it works out good for both of them my son on the concerta is going to find out if he has bypoler next week and theres more drugs for him and he is only 12 years old

Hey there - for my first response to RCNitro General Chaos I will be addressing the ADD topic. Diagnosed 4 months ago, after many years of symptoms - inability to focus, fidgeting, short attention span, errors in judgement due to "spontaneous" outbursts, etc. - The diagnosis explained ALOT in my past, i.e. thrill seeking adventures, starting lots of projects that never got finished and then addiction to almost anything I liked, especially drugs. I started on Adderall and all went Great!! I was able to focus on a given project until it's completion and I started getting more organized. I also became alot less annoying to my friends/family! One side effect that can be overlooked, however, is that when the appetite is suppressed (good thing), the nutrition your body needs is reduced. I found out that my viral load increased dramatically - not because of the Adderall, but because I wasn't getting enough nutrients. I began supplementing my diet with some herbal immune boosters and vitamins. Just something to be aware of.

I've often wondered if I have ADD as well. I've only ever been slightly curious because of things that I've read and the general personality traits that people with ADD seem to share, like not being able to finish projects. Losing interest in projects has always been a problem for me. These days I find that I have to constantly hold myself back from starting a new project when I have 2 unfinished ones already. I procrastinate simple things all the time. My house tends to stay somewhat on the messy side because of it. Chores that would literally take 3 minutes get pushed to the side on a normal basis. Some days I'm better at taking care of stuff but majority of the time I'm not very good at keeping up. I always feel better on those days when I get things accomplished yet that doesn't seem like enough motivation for me to be productive the next day. For some reason this does not translate to my professional life at all. At least I don't think it does. I try pretty hard to be productive at work, especially when it's vitally necessary. I feel like I'm pretty good at what I do at work but it certainly does not translate to my home life. I dunno. Just always been a bit curious about it. Probably will never do anything about it though... kinda like this big hole in my molar that doesn't hurt yet, but I know it's there :)

I thought the same thing - that it's not a big deal. But it has really improved the quality of my life. It's like not knowing that you are poor, until someone tells you. Being rich is SOOOO much better! There is a test on line you can take to determine if you are ADD or Bi-Polar (not a diagnosis, mind you). I also have been reading alot about nutrition playing an important roll in getting rid of ADD, especially in children. I don't plan to be on meds for life - but, they sure have helped me in this situation. Just be involved in your own health treatment - that's my advice. Thanks.:

I had (have) ADD. They put me on medicine, and my grades in school improved. I refused to take it anymore because my butthead brother kept telling people i was on it.

yeah i was on idk what for 8 years it F**ked me up. the steroids made it to where a i have lung issues. and i was allways picked on even as the biggest kid in my freshman class. I'm only 14 and i hate the pills and i have adhd.
