Decision Making. Nitro to Electric...Possible Sale

Well I've been out of the game for quite some time. My schedule is beyond busy and any free time I have is minimal. Maybe a couple hours at most.

That being said, I have a pretty much new Revo 3.3 which I just have no time to play with. I have probably ran only single digits of gas tank through it. I mean I can enjoy it but the time it takes to set it up, play then clean and maintain is more then the time I have. Now I got the thinking with electric, I can generally turn it on, drive, and turn it off. I dont think I would need to clean it right after, but can wait maybe a day or 2 when I have time again.

Now my question is, what options do I have if I purchase an electric Traxxas to match the specs of a Revo 3.3? It would be used with a mixture of pavement, grass, and dirt.
I see you can convert the Revo 3.3 to electric also. Maybe that is a better route?
Here my only issue. If I get an electric, I want to be able to sell my Revo and not put no more then about $100 on top. If I convert, I want to be able to sell my parts enough to buy what is needed for converting.

BTW, if anyone is interested in a Revo 3.3, make me a decent offer.
Here are some add-ons that are on the truck
-Front and Rear strobing lights
-Candy Rollcage
-Motor Saver RT80
-RPM Front and Rear mounts and Bumpers in Blue
-Traxxas digital Temp gauge
-Super Shot glow starter
-SuperCluth Kit
-RPM Blue front Right and Left A-Arms
-RPM Blue axle carriers
-RPM Blue True Track conversion
After purchasing the True Track conversion, I only had a chance to install and I never had time to set it up.
-Plus some other miscellaneous items. If your interested, I will get you a full list with PICS.

Thanks in advance
Ber

Electric is going to cost you more than $100 bucks ontop of whatever you can get out of your revo. Id say get a Savage Flux or if you just have to have a traxxas then get an erevo but on top of the kit costing a lot more than nitro you're gonna have to buy lipos and a lipo charger etc. Electric is expensive to get started in.

Thanks for the answers.
doesn't the Traxxas come with RTR trucks? If not, are there any that are?
Well, chances are I will go more than $100 but I'm trying not to. I keep looking into the Stampede VXL and ERevo Brushless. Are these comparable to the Revo 3.3?

I currently have a Traxxas and was looking to stay cause I'm fairly familiar, but I can switch. I just dont want to downgrade in anyway.

An EREVO is comparable but a fair amount more expensive I believe....a Revo 3.3 is about $600 and an EREVO is closer to $800. Then like I said you have to buy lipos and a good charger. Although once you get all the stuff you need your wont have the constant upkeep like fuel, glow plugs, etc.

The stampede is garbage IMO...if anything the next closest thing that traxxas has to the Revo is the Emaxx which is more MT and less Truggy like. The Emaxx probably requires a few more hop ups than the Revo out of the box too.

What do you mean comparable? The Erevo brushless and the pede vxl are very fast. But they are not nitro so it's hard to compare

Well I'm trying to stay low in price cause the wife keeps telling me to budget myself. Well looks like that wont be happening. Lolol
Now I have to figure out what truck to get.

I'm looking to get out of nitro cause its to time consuming for me. So I'm looking to go electric.

If you were willing to mark grass of your list, then the cheapest "good" worthwhile style rig would be a short course truck, Traxxas slash or slash 4x4. Larger than that is really gonna cost, but be WELL worth it performance wise in the end. The vxl slash's run very very well though.

You might try putting up a wtb add and see what you might find on here, I've seen some killer deals go through here on awesome rigs.

To convert the Revo 3.3 to electric you're looking at the conversion kit about $100, a clutch for about $40, an ESC/Motor combo between $250-350 and then batteries.it won't be quite as expensive but it won't be cheap.

Converting sound easier said then done. If I do go that route, i think id rather just get a new truck all ready setup.

Hmmm. I would have to think about the grass. I live across from a park so grass would be hard to get away from. Plus I would like to bash if I can.

I'm in a similar boat. Nitro seems to take too much of my time, and frustrates me. I'm giving it one last attempt to continue to work correctly before I get a savage flux. They look bad ass on the youtubes I've seen.

Savage flux
Turnigy Nano-Tech packs
A good charger

All of that should run you somewhere between $900-1k but it will be an insanely fun combo!

For that price, you could almost get an HPI Baja 5b. Also no real tuning and up to 45 minutes on a tank of gasoline and 2-stroke oil.

This SavageFlux is getting me to think of looking. I will investigate the crime of buying one, haha. But it really comes down to how much I can sell my current Revo. If I dont get much for it, id rather keep it and use it when I do have time. Whats the going price on these used? Mine is fairly new.

I would love a Baja and I considered it before. I'm trying to stay away from nitro right now. Its to time consuming for me at this point in my life. By the time I do have time for it, there will be a new model.

The Baja isn't nitro but gasoline. I have basically gotten out of nitro and am running gas or electric.

I'm trying to stay away from the high maintenance of trucks. Also having to clean the engine after every run, constant monitoring of the engine heat. Not that I dont want to, but all this together right now takes up alot of time I dont have. I figure that an electric I can turn on and drive and when I'm dont put it away. Clean it when I have time.

After seeing the Savage Flux videos on youtube, I'm very eager to buy one.
What do would I need to have the truck run out of the box? The whole electric is new to me so I dont know what the different cells mean etc..

Thanks in advance again

You will need to get either 2x2s lipos or 2x3s lipos and with two 2s lipos the volts are 14.8 and with the 3s lipos the volts are 22.2.http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16209__Turnigy_5000mAh_3S_35C_Lipo_Pack_USA_Warehouse_.html At hobbyking make sure you buy from usa warehouse or it will take weeks to ship it to you.Imo i would go with the 3s lipos if you want it to be pretty fast. Then you will need a charger that charges lipo batterys. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thunder-AC6-Smart-LiPo-Balance-Charger-Discharger-w-AC-Adapter-1-6-Lipo-Bonus-/181082389147?pt=US_Radio_Control_Control_Line&hash=item2a2959fa9b

At the end of a run, I perform an initial clean as I get home. Wheels and batteries come off ; if you've got easy access to compressed air or even 'em canisters, it'll be REALLY easy to clean much of your rig.

I use a larger 2" wall-painting brush and a smaller artists brush - this takes about 10-15 mins. In total, about 30-45 mins for a decent clean. Also use rubbing alcohol to remove gunk off the chassis bottom-plate and then throw a coating of WD40 afterwards.

Well I would want it to me about the same speed as the Revo I have now, if not a little quicker. Currently my Revo 3.3 I believe is 60+ or 65+. So which lipos/charger setup would you suggest?

Thanks for the tips. I have the compressed air cans which I can use, so that will be very helpful.

Now I just need to get some time and take pics of my Revo to sell on here or ebay. I will try on here first and give you guys a cheaper price then ebay.
