What is a good set of decent servos with a decent price. One quick and one torquey? Probably going into a LST.

I don't wanna speed 100+ on servos...

Honestly it really depends. When you say $100+ do you mean you want to keep the cost below $100 for both or each?

If you want to keep it around $100 for both check out the Hitec HS-5625MG and Hitec HS-5645MG, both can be had for about $54 from amain or Tower.

Thanks for the info. And I meant a piece, but together would always be better.

If they are going in an LST, then you need two for steering alone and they need to be the same. That's one of the not so cool things on the LST* trucks, the steering pretty much requires two servos or you get crap steering. You will be hard pressed to find a single servo saver horn that is stiff enough to do the job. That combined with the wire that connects the left/right together just isn't enough.

Now, all that said, 2 JR650M's would do really well for steering and cost you $100 for 2.

Or, if you want to a bit cheaper, but get the same specs, the JR Sport ST126MG will run you $76 for 2.

Both are a hair slower than stock @ 6V (.17 sec/60 vs .15 sec/60) but it will be almost twice the torque (2*142oz vs 2*85oz).

As for throttle/brake, I no longer run a servo that doesn't have an o-ring built in on the output shaft. Costs a little more, but is much safer than having a drop of water hit the internal circuit board and send your $500+ rig screaming accross a parking lot at WOT into a stationary object. I go with the hitec 985MG @ $70 which has 172oz/.13sec @ 6V. Plenty of power and speed to keep pretty much any MT in check. O-rings on case halves, screws and output shaft.

What if I was just to use the JR9000 series? The 9100T for steering and 9100S for T/B? yeah i know a little more expensive but hey, it works.

Yeah... not really in $100 for both now is it... ;)

I think you will find it annoying to try and get one servo to work for steering. Might want to google it a bit or search here for anyone else that has done it. Even if you went with two, you will find it difficult to find servo savers that put much of that torque to good use.

My question is this: Revos have no problem with one servo, they're not that much smaller or lighter so why is it such a bad idea for an LST2? Just wondering....

It's not that you can't find a strong enough servo for the task, but the revo is definitely lighter and it's steering system, sad to say, is better equipped to support a single servo.

The problem with a single servo is that everything that is between it and the tires isn't structured in a way that works well with a single servo.

I have the 9100S and 9100T in my 1/8 truggy. Absolutely worth every penny.

I have two of the 650's in my LST2 and they work much better than stock but the 9100's would be ideal IMO more power and speed is always a good thing:)

I stay away from JR stuff now, they just dont last like they used to.
I like hitec and ACE stuff.
Dumb question, what radio are you going to use? If you want digi servos, you will want a radio that can set end-points or you run the risk of burning up the new servos.

JR 8711 for steering. run it on the savage and its great. you can get them for 113 shipped

The JR 9000 and 9100 do not fit in a LST without dremeling the chassis.
A couple 650's is pefect for it.
A digital will last longer and perform better though.
