Welp, I haven't truly taken this fully apart since I built it in late 2022 so I think its time for a rebuild lol. Here is some before pics. Gonna start this weekend. Should have started it last weekend where I couldn't have went to the track but it is what it is. First need to get this terribly stripped up screw. Yes @Littlemotor I tried punching in some torx bits. Bought a Amazon T1-T10 bit set a few months ago which are too small. Had a T15, T20 and 25 in the tool box. 15 was too small. 20 was too big. Gonna take it to my uncle with the power tools this weekend. Could still probably go to the track this weekend and not bring this car but id rather stay home and rebuild. Plus I only have 10 bucks which won't get me into racing so. Lol. Gonna pull off the front and rear clips. Clean up everything. Freshen oils in the diffs and shocks. probably won't pull up everything on the chassis since I need a new roll of 3m sided tape and also simple green. Or you know what Ill stop by autozone or the harbor freight tmrw. Do need to replace the front diff case as I been needing to do that since September lol bc the sway bar mount where the screws go in are too stripped out so. Should have also picked up a new Fast Eddy Bearing kit but ill save that until sometime else. All the bearings, besides the center diff ones are good. It's been running and driving well but just needs a clean up. Deep clean in the hard to reach spots basically. Oh yea, maybe replace diff outdrives and pins in the CVAs? Or should I just leave it as is? Also, any tips on how to get the rear ride height lower than 20mm? Shock collar is all the way up and the shocks been bled many times and no air in them. Maybe something with the shims with the arms/pins?

Yeah-torx “extractor” would be tough against a 12.9…😅🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorry to derail the thread, but are we gonna get an update on the truggy tonight?
Likely be tomorrow night, very late.. I’ve had 72hrs of cure time on my last Matte Clear topcoat, and they recommend 48.. It’s crazy humid here in the woods of NC, and my house is even more so.. I’m giving that clear as much time as possible before putting the parts back in service.. 🍻

Sounds good! I've just been looking forward to seeing you finish that build!

Sweet always love overhauling, as of the rear ht. Just a thought, unsure if this could affect the driving ability or if it goes against any regulations of the race. Could you make or buy shock mount risers to lower rear end. Just something I do for crawlers to make them lower. 🤘🏼

Before you go any further, drill down into the head with a 2.5mm, as straight as you can. Be careful not to go too far. You want to leave enough to grab onto the leftover screw after the chassis comes off, and there won't be much at all since that is a flathead. The head should get weak enough to pry it out of there. Go slow. Little at a time and try to tap the head with a roll pin punch, or something with a sharp edge on it. Try to get a bite on top of the head and chisel the head counter-clockwise. It's a hardened screw, so you will need a sharp chisel. If it doesn't break off, drill a little farther.

Or you can try drilling the hole a little bigger so the next size torx fits in there. Heat the screw with your soldering iron just a bit before trying to remove it again.

If you can get a chisel that will get a bite in that head, you can try tapping it out with a small hammer. You're just trying to send shock waves into the screw to break it free. I have had to remove a number of broken taps this way. Very tedious. Very time consuming. But it has never failed to eventually break things free.
