well... guess who has 2 thumbs and a 6x6?? if you guessed this guy you're absolutely correct!
i picked up a cross bison xl 6x6, but I'm sure you guessed that from the title.
i got a btc discount and picked it up for 500 brand new. its not got the aftermarket support that the other big brands has yet, which is lame. but it has some and more coming out (according to knk hobbies)
its an 8th scale which was a BIG reason i chose it over say a traxxas mercedes, i likes em big

the transmitter has i think 12 switches!!!! allowing me to lock or unlock each diff allegedly, I've kept em all locked so i couldnt honestly tell you on that as of now, still gotts to learn about the switches
it has a full light kit, with high/low beams, brake lights, red and blue berries in the grill, it will strobe effect and also i guess a hazard setting? its a slower flash than the strobe effect. it has a horn as well as a weak motor sound when you hold a button down,
I'm going to slap a HW quickrun in it asap, i do love that foc.
its going to get a few upgrades as i go, I'm looking at
motor, shocks, wheels & tires, stronger steering servo, (i dont htink ill need a stronger shift servo)
The EMO XL is built for six-wheel drive performance. it runs a portal axle drivetrain with a dual-reverse portal axle setup as its foundation. front and rear diff locks are independently controlled (the rear duals lock together), and it’s got a dual-speed all-metal transmission that can handle both high-torque crawling and higher-speed trail runs.
the third axle uses a suspension system that mixes aerospace aluminum with fiber composite, keeping it light but strong. that design helps keep the rear end stable and protected when you’re tackling steep climbs or rough terrain.
the 1/8 EMO platform has gone through three generations of updates, and it shows. the EMO XL runs a metal gear reverse transmission with a CNC aluminum motor mount for better heat dissipation. the gears are a mix of machined and MIM parts, so they’re strong, quiet, and long-lasting.
everything spins on ABEC3 bearings for smooth operation and less maintenance. suspension rods are 7mm stainless steel, so they won’t rust and help keep the center of gravity low. the rod ends are larger and reinforced, giving them a lot more strength when things get rough.
the 21mm CNC shocks are vacuum-plated and pre-filled with 350CST oil from the factory, already properly vented. they’ve got a nice balance of support and flexibility, soaking up hits without feeling too soft. the main frame rails are reinforced to handle high loads and power upgrades without bending or twisting.
the portal axles are made from high-performance weather-resistant nylon, so they hold up even in cold conditions. the rear balance linkage is the second-generation version from the EMOX Rhinoceros, designed to control body roll at higher speeds without messing with shock performance.
it’s running the same all-terrain tires from the EMO X3, which have a great balance of traction and durability. lighting is fully integrated with a high-power LED setup and grille warning lights, all controllable from the transmitter.
electronics are built on a 7.4v high-voltage system, handling shifting and diff-lock control through servos. power comes from a Hobbywing 4S 880 ESC and a high-torque 560 brushed motor. if you want to upgrade later to stronger servos or a better radio system, the setup is already capable of supporting it.
