Hello again,

I'm looking to subscribe to all the best R/C magazines and was wondering what you guys prefer? I recently ordered a Revo, so mags related to that would be mostly what I'm looking for. Something with "Things to do to your Revo" would be cool. Or if you know of a website that I can goto in the meantime with "things to do to your Revo" would also be helpful.

One more question, Other than the very best www.rcnitrotalk.com, what are some other R/C forums that you go to. Which is the largest with the most members?

I should be getting my new Revo within a week. Can't wait!!!

Brent

Moved to a better forum. This will help you get better responses.

RCU is the largest. Its ok if you dont mind being inundated with sales ads, underlined words, constant junk mail, and trying to find useful information on a subject while reading 100 posts from un-knowladgable users. Largest doesn't mean best.

yikes, I guess I need to re-phrase that question. Other than www.rcnitrotalk.com what are some other helpful forums you go to and like. Thanks

Also, where am I suppose to see special supporting member icon?

To be completely honest this is the fourm I go to for RC help. Some will link a tip from a nother site but I am here.

I go to Car forums and PC ones sometimes but that is it.

Wrench head and geek.. LOL

As far as magazines, I like Xtreme RC the best.

I'd have to agree, Xtreme RC is the only magazine I pick up. The others seem to be full more of ads then actually articles.

As for websites, RCU is the largest site but Eddy has already commented about them... they really like their ads. Honestly I don't have a Revo so I can't tell you of any places I've seen that have a lot of info for the revo other then the Traxxas forum.

Never mind I guess I'll have to google it. I'll let you know what I come up with. Reason is, I'm a ditch bang'n snow-x'er who participates in a ton of snowx events & forums. Anyways I find it a lot more useful going to more than one forum and doing a search.

Here is a link to all the forums I (and my few members) have collected for ground-based RC vehicle forums.

But this one, RCNT, is one of the best, and here's why:
Its (RCU) ok if you dont mind being inundated with sales ads, underlined words, constant junk mail . . .

RCU is one of those RC sites that tries to do it all and like many RC boards is only there to demonstrate the exposure to its advertisers (which equates to making more money.) If you get greedy and try to do it all, users (and info) tend to get lost in the sheer quantity. Besides that, RCU is so overloaded it takes forever to navigate and is seldom worth it once you get there.

Once any website asset begins to be driven by corporate interests, it loses much of its character and real value to the hobbyist. RCNT is still a great hobby site, IMO.

RCX is a good mag, but I pick RC Driver as my favorite. The info content in both seems to be good, but I think the articles in RC Driver are a little bit more informational overall. This is most likely do to editing because RC Driver is a much larger mag than RCX. I think If RCX was the size of RC Driver I wouldn't be able to pick between the two. RCCA sucks ass, I happend to pick one up the other day. It had two articles that had been discussed in the above mentioned mags months ago. The TTR EB4 S3 buggy and the Cleveland Indoor champs... C'mon! The "Champs" race was in NOVEMBER! This is an April mag? WTF!

RCX is my current and only subscription. They seem pretty non-biased to any maker or supplier for the most part. When you read their reviews on things, they are very thorough. If it's a bashing rig, they go into detail on what it takes to break it. If it's a racing rig, they tell you all the adjustments and whatnot.

If I'm not here at this forum, I'm either at Beat Your Truck or at another one that has a lot of hpisavageforum's people on it.

Hpisavageforum was one I frequented, but it's been down for a few months... then I stumbled accross the new site and a few of the names are familiar. Just found it last week and I don't have a link here at work.

Savage-Central isn't to bad if you don't mind putting up with quite a few "younger" folks. Lots of spam though... but I doubt you'd find much about your revo there ;)

I like XRC and RC Driver. At least XRC isn't afraid of some soccer mom bitchin about 2 or 3 pictures of a babe in a bikini. I also get RCCA for something to read. The Revo discussion on the Traxxas board is ok, you just have to watch what you say, the mods are like the Soup Nazi over there but you can get some decent info that is Revo specific. Oh yeah, sometimes too you'll see Derek B from XRC over here which is cool. But this site is by far the best when it comes to people willing to share knowledge and tips, help people out or just plain shoot the breeze!

I do subscribe to all the RC mags. But the best one is Xtreme RC & RC Driver. As for Forums, I don't know any other forums that would be of any help to ya. Unless ur into 1/18th scale then I suggest www.one18th.com

i LIke rc driver over rc car action. I will have to pick up xtream...

here the only "younger folk" you have to deal with is me. I'm enough... :hammer:

This forum produces responses.. especially from the admins. They are all over the place.. but that is a good thing, because the know what they are talking about (for the most part.. hahaha)

I usually get really quick responses on here to my questions.

It is nice.

There are too many junk talkers and know-it-alls on the rccaraction site.
I signed up for rcu a while back. I went in there.. and turned and came right back out.
It is a little rediculous.
So, welcome to rcnitro heaven, it doesn't get any better than here.

i would have to say that rcnitrotalk.com is one of the best sites i have found for info on any rc car or truck I'm new to this hobby but I'm a grease lovin computer nerd and have spent a lot of time trying to find info for my revo everyone here seems to give great answers to questions insted of just giving bullshit that gets you nowhere
plus what other forum can u ask what other forums do you visit and not get bashed or have your post deleted!

Other Forums

Well RCNT is a fair to good forum.

Without question the most informative open minded non-commercial forum on the net would be traxxas .com

I just have to clarify that we've alway had more pages than Driver :)
