Sorry WoodiE I forgot to address your other issues, as for your truck going in reverse when you are trying to make it go forward, just reverse your + and - power wires on your motor, that is how mine is and it will make your motor turn in the correct direction, as for your steering I know your not new to this but did you check to make sure your servo was centered before you put the servo horn on it and had equal throw in both directions? because with the Hobbico CS170 servo it should not have any problems turning, one other thing I would check is with the linkage not hooked up to the servo make sure the wheels turn in both directions nice and smooth with out any binding..as for your shocks I just looked at my manual and it says to make sure the O-ring is fully seated in the shock cap.
