Sorry WoodiE I forgot to address your other issues, as for your truck going in reverse when you are trying to make it go forward, just reverse your + and - power wires on your motor, that is how mine is and it will make your motor turn in the correct direction, as for your steering I know your not new to this but did you check to make sure your servo was centered before you put the servo horn on it and had equal throw in both directions? because with the Hobbico CS170 servo it should not have any problems turning, one other thing I would check is with the linkage not hooked up to the servo make sure the wheels turn in both directions nice and smooth with out any binding..as for your shocks I just looked at my manual and it says to make sure the O-ring is fully seated in the shock cap.

yeah exactly, that servo should gladly try to brake your stock knuckles if its working right lol, maybe your epa's are set right.

I've popped them on stock axials but under alot of pressure. not real sure why they popped for ya woodie, just make sure they are real tight...one more little thing woodie, not a big deal though, just flip em, your lugs are a different direction on one side than the other.

i might be wrong but as best i can see, arent your seals in the wrong spot on the shocks? think they go up inside the caps on the stock axials.

That's where the seals started... inside the shock cap. They are sitting on top of the shock bodies now just to show what went wrong (shocks blown).

Your battery is mounted up to high, you need one of these http://www.eastendmachining.com/st4liandbase.html it is designed to move your steering servo over next to the drivers side front wheel so you can mount you battery down lower next to the servo. As for you shock caps I never has a problem with them popping off, but have heard of a lot of people having that problem, I always just made sure the shock caps were really tight. tour other options are Losi crawler shocks, Traxxas aluminum Big Bores, or aluminum shock bodies like these http://www.eastendmachining.com/stalshbofora3.html both the lipo battery mount and shock bodies come in other colors if you don't like black and want to add a little more color to your rig:D

All future upgrades down the road - for a couch crawler I think on the servo will do fine for now. ;)

One thing I do have left to install is the BEC - I'm not sure if that will make that big of a difference on my steering or not though.

oh ok woodie, hopefully your caps are still fine and not stripped, if they are, pm me, i'll send ya some stock caps to replace those if they are stripped.

do the caps hit the chassis during travel? if so you might try a small spacer and see if that helps.

also, the rig looks awesome man! you did a great job!

Ok I just ordered the STRC battery/servo tray from EEM along with the other needed hardware - No more upgrades for a while!!! :D Well other then a body :)

I'm going to try my hand at the soldering iron again tonight in hopes to get the BEC installed and take a look at my steering setup. I know it's something small that I'm overlooking.

Sweet, and don't forget to switch your power wires going to your motor while you got the soldering iron fired up to install your Castle BEC. Are you going to 4-link the front since that battery/servo mount you ordered is designed for it?:D

I believe so... I've included a set of Traxxas rod links - can I use my stock aluminum rods with the traxxas links to do the 4 link setup? I'm assuming yes, but not sure.

I think I'm going to move my receiver as well - right now it's on the back top linkage and I'm thinking about moving it between the rear shocks.

you can use about any links you want if they are the right length.
