Just had to share my friggin crazy day with newly aquired old HPI RS4-2.
Been wrenching on this ride now for several days . Mostly cleaning and replacing lost screws. anyway went out today after work to local parking lot. Car running great just having a great end of day in sunny GA. Then tragedy or was it. Take car across lot, bust high speed turn loose battery box. Wham-O right into the curb full throttle . So ok I'm dissapointed but not heart broken, hell its an old car, and hey I am new at this. But then to my surprise it dosent stop it lands on wheels and boom there it goes Full throttle out of site down the entrance to the street a very busy street, I tighten up for what I know is going to be sure choas and to my surprise I just keep hearing the whine of the engine, getting further and further away. Now I'm Freaking out, Jump in the car and take off, When I get to the road no sign of the car , Stick my head out the window and hear the faint whine of the engine and then quiet, So I start the Hunt and to my surprise and relief there is the car upside down in the middle of a Frieght companies Fuel bay, Highly secure Razor wire security guard kinda place, The guard is laughing so hard he can't beleive what he witnessed, He was for sure AL Qaeda was striking with a new sophisticated bomb deployment system, (hope terrorist don't R/C). Well after we shared some laughs and thankfully not a felony trepassing charge, I collected my things and left. I couldnt beleive that after all that I did not break anything. Lost dogbone and turnbuckles which I found and put back on . Dented exhaust, and a few more scratches, but 10 mins later she fired right up. I just think I will stay in the neighbor hood. to conclude. The rush I got when I lost site of that car and just heard it whinning down the street. was pretty freakin cool. sometimes your most alive when things are going terribly wrong. :surrender.
