Controller Range issue :(

Hi guys,

I have a Ansmann Virus 3.0. I absolutely loved it at first... since I took over to my local park about a week ago the car will now only get to about 20 feet and all controls will cease to work.

All help will be appreciated.

check the antenna for damage. Especially the last inch or so of it if its a 2.4Ghz system.

Yh its 2.4ghz... I did run it into a small puddle by accident, it is meant to be "waterproof".

I shall have a look at the antenna tonight when i get in

Id take the RX case apart and check for water...most of those so called waterproof setups aren't really waterproof as much as they are water resistant.

I do remember looking in there actually... I don't remember seeing any water at all... But I did spot a very, very small amount of some weird pale greenish residue around the cable end of the battery connector?

Sounds like corrosion which means water has been in there before and could have damaged the RX.

Looks like I'm going to be replacing the connectors then What connectors do you recommend and if possible where to get them

Your standard RXs use futaba connectors. I usually order mine off of ebay but you should be able to get them from your LHS or any online retailer.
