@WoodiE seems your good with computers. Do you know anyone with the knowledge and skillset to attempt something like this?
This is a very hard task.

This is flipping cool. Anyways, i think this arm will allow someone to come up with something.
Is there any way you coukd find out model number and who makes it?

It's not a difficult project and it needs no computing skills.
It needs a mechanical bracket and the proper leverage to work the sticks with the motion he has.
Still waiting for that information.

Yeah i thought about some more and if that arm bens in all the places i think it does then it will be ez to copy that on a smaller scale to move a joystick perhaps?

We still need to know how he moves that arm.
However he does it, that arm is WAY too big to use a remote, but if we know how he manipulates it we can translate that into a smaller system.

Yup.....

the arm was just try and it cost a lot of money.

this is me driving my wheelchair.

when i press the right pad on the headrest, the chair will go to the right. the same as the left pad. there is a button by my left knee, when i press that, it will change to forward\backward then press the middle pad on the headrest to go forward\backward. when i want to stop, i don't press anything.

i want to drive my rc cars like i do with my chair. so, i need you guys to make a controller with 4 switch ports. like this.....

http://www.rjcooper.com/game-controller/ps2-switches.jpg

but i know that a ps2 controller and not a rc controller. I'm just giving you guys an idea what I'm looking for.

i think that you guys are thinking too hard and i want it to be as simple as possible.

and don't worry about the mounting part, i just need you guys to make a controller that i can use.

looks like a headphones jack; but for a switch instead.

google it

There are 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 1/4" jacks and sockets, all for headphones. Some are mono jacks, some are stereo jacks.
All the information we need has to be ABSOLUTELY specific. You will need to provide the type and size of jacks that are currently used on the control wires from your head rest. That's something you'll need to get from the manufacturer of the chair.

Oh i think i know what you mean.
You need to link the radio to those plugs like on that ps control so you can hook up to your chair right?

There are cables coming off the headrest controls. Each movement corresponds to an input in the chair's control unit.
This isn't something that can just be hooked to a control since the "sticks" will be the headrest units.
The radio will have to be dismantled, the sticks removed and input jacks wired to each circuit going to the radio output. Where the right stick would go left to turn left, it would now be the left head rest being pressed left to give that signal to the Tx to send. If pressing the headrest farther makes it turn more, that's another issue that needs to be addressed.

Not something we can do here without the radio and chair. Once you explain it to someone locally who knows electronics, he'll be able to do what you need.
You might even consider the chair supplier since he would already have the parts in stock, except for the radio transmitter.

This is a really cool project, I have an extra FrSky 2.4 aircraft RX that I'll donate if you guys think you can use it for the intended application.
