haha i have a buggy it is pretty addictive, i have a raze and now I'm feeling like i got ripped really hard on the price by this hobby shop. its ok but not anything special

i am actually debating getting that gt2 kit you were saying with no motor and getting a .18 or some kind and putting it in it. i mean i hear good things about the gt2 the only drawback i saw was the power and like you said building would help me learn about the trucks

that is of coarse if i can't get the $250 3.3 haha

oh yeah and i see roll cages up for sale on ebay and stuff. are these worth buying? they look like they protect everything pretty well

Not just yet. The guy that was going to give me a killer deal on it got in a car accident so he has been out of it. He said he would probably be getting it this monday. After i get it I'm going to get new rims and tires (offroad) and some rpm plastic.

any suggestions for front tires? i kind of have an idea of what i need for the back but the front i am either going to get the same as back, leave on the anacondas, or buy like a special front tire. i havent quite decided yet

The Traxxas Talon makes a good tire for the rear and the Anacondas do OK on the front. There may be better tires out there but these will get you started without a lot of cost.

If you want to try a gear change it’s really easy. If you want more acceleration you can use a smaller (less teeth) clutch bell or a larger (more teeth) spur gear. More speed you do the opposite.

It takes less than five minutes to swap the gears. You can change just the clutch bell or the spur gear or both. There are many good combinations for gearing. To change the clutch bell you just remove the E-clip and slide the gear off. For the spur gear there are three screws that hold it on. You will need to loosen the screws for the motor mount and slide the motor forward or backward to set the mesh on the gears once the new gears are installed.

If you get the car and get ready to make a gear swap I’m sure someone will be able to help you set the gear mesh at that time.

wow i actually just talked to my friend who doesn't have an rc but he works at a general hobby store and he says he could get me a new 3.3 for 250 or so possibly and they go for 400 just to walk in and buy one... he is going to check back in with me on how much he can get it for but he said he thinks he can do 250. that would be so sick. but yeah if anyone wants to post pictures or videos or anything about how to change the gearing and stuff like that it would be sooo great.

thanks man that is actually exactly what i wanted i want a really durable truck where i dont have to worry to much about breakin an arm just driving around so rpm plastic is good? yeah man i dont care what it looks like as long as it it works and works well.

yea.. get something that your LHS has parts for.. makes it easier in the long run :)

I've got a roll cage and it has saved me tons of money in the long run.. def worth it
