I wanted a "built not bought" but didn't have one, plus, that's kinda overdone
That sticker came on a sheet from a company I bought a part from and it seemed so fitting
Thanks pretty funny, I actually have a couple of "Built not Bought" stickers, I thought about sending one to you, but they seemed too big for an RC 🙃

The "Built from parts" fits better 👍

Hoping to hit some trails sometime today. Nothign too crazy, just whatever I can find. Going to hit a walking trial I have been on before, but, it was before I was into crawlers so I wasn't looking for any place to crawl. I am sure there will be some areas with some small rocks or tree roots or something

Also need to get the lighter springs on, but, still can't find my took kit. Ordered a netter one, should be here tomorrow

I was able to get out
Brought my youngest along and made her my photographer/videographer
I'll get the vids up in a bit
This particular place didn't have a lot of good spots but it was still good day
The rig performed great

It's always a good day when you can get out and enjoy nature. :)

So I always thought that this sat a little high, and that it was weird that I really didn't have any options for shock mounting locations

I'm used to 24 scale so I thought maybe it was just a 1:10 thing
I started looking for different shock towers
Then I got to looking at it more
Are my shock towers on the wrong sides?

This is the front right. I have it on the front, driver's side. Which is front right if you're looking at it from the front.
But if you're in the rig, it would be front left
It looks like swapping them would give me the option to lay the shocks down at a few different angles

Made progress tonight.
Got the shock towers swapped around.
Much better
Also was able to change to lighter springs and change the shock mounting angle
I see now it sits a little lower in the rear. I'll look into that another night

Had to use longer bolts and some spacers

Only problem is now the body mount posts don't like up with the holes

The tools worked great!
Also used the Ryobi driver I had and with the new bits this was a pretty easy process

@Tallbump Gonna have to train your daughter to get out in front of the rc to shoot video, other than that she did a great job. :) I really need to get out and play, It's just so danged hot.
Sorry, I missed this the other day.
I agree, definitely has some learning to do.
I think the quality of the videos were pretty good. She just needs to learn the angles an distances

She sounded early teen on one of the videos, am I right? You may suggest her to treat the car like a person - and you wouldn't want to record a person from behind and miles away, right? An example should also work (at this age they absorb everything, especially when you don't tell them to 😁) - you may show her some nice videos, both RC and real cars, and just complement the composition.

On the other hand, you'll need to learn to let her know "where the car will be", and then stick to it. Or in other words: give her a chance to work out a better angle and take the position beforehand, and make sure it pays off ("I went ahead and it made a better video") rather than... well, anything else ("I tried but it didn't work, or made things worse - so why bother").

And the the thing that always worked best for me: just swap the roles 🤣 This will show both of you what the other one can do or need to be done - and how to communicate about that using shared experience.

.But first, please, show her this 🤓:

Good luck!

Weill do. And yes, early teen. Normally my older daughter does the pics and video, but she wasn't available.
I will talk to my youngest about this, though. She just started getting into cars (and bikes) and likes going to car shows. She also loves taking pictures, so sh will appreciate it

How do you like those hex drivers so far? Any issues with them rounding out, or does the quality seem ok? I have an MIP set, but I've been looking for a second set of decent cheaper ones.
Those look like the exact Injora branded ones I have. Been using mine now for a few months, one complete scratch built crawler, and other misc tinkering on different rigs. Holding up super good, all the hex edges are still sharp and no rounding off. Definately worth the $. I have several sets of hex drivers, including a set of Snap On, and honestly, so far I am liking these the best.
