We had a great day in church today.
First time ever hearing the preacher, he was really good.
Was a missionary in Argentina for 30 years
No luck on the Enduro
Got the servo mounted on the axle
Went to do the motor/trans
Realized the skid plate is built in to the trans so had to take all the links off and the skid plate out
Went to mount the motor to the trans and realized I don't have a pinion gear
So now it's actually further apart then it was
Ordered a pinion gear. Should be here this week and we'll give it another go next Sunday

Well, glad it was a good day even if you didn't get your rig moving. I didn't realize that the newer SE Trans had integrated skid, hopefully no other surprises.
It really is all about the journey right? Eventually you will get there and say, "wow, what a fun ride!"

Did get the Volcano 16 out to the gravel pit. That was pretty fun
But my buddy brought his XMaxx and my daughter had her Slash...made my 16 seem small and slow... which it kinda is
Maybe someday I'll get 1:10 brushless

Well, almost 3 months, and 148 posts in this thread, we have a functioning 1:10 Crawler!
Obviously I don't have the body done yet. That is the next phase. Need to decide on final look and make it happen.
Debating on a beat up, stickered up trail truck or a police truck.
Big thanks to everyone that contributed parts and offerred support!

Hahah it does look more akin to something on a short course truck or like a UDR.
You can always switch that up once you get the body done.
Or just cut it down some, like slice these sides off.

Way to go man! I love it when a plan comes together Yup, that is a pretty large bumper, but it will cause you to pick your lines a bit more carefully. I agree with cutting it down a bit in width til you get something different. The one you posted looks pretty good, be a good one for class 1 or just for trail.

Getting ready to paint the body.
I ordered a can of my primary color. Looking to make some decals to mask off some areas.

So...I have created a new dilemma for myself 
I am still deciding on a paint job for the Raptor body. I THINK I have made up my mind
BUT, in process of doing my research, I discovered that Axial had made a 1:10 JLU.
My first ever crawler was an Axial SCX24 JLU in white. I still have it and although it has performance upgrades, it still looks like the white JLU. For Christmas, I got the white JLU 1:30.
So, white this build isn't actually an Axial, it would be cool to have it as a white JLU
It looks like the never made it in white, but I can get a clear body and paint it...

No progress as I was out of town for work.
I did order the tuner card for the brushless motor/ESC. Hopefully I will get that in next weekend.
Still up in the air on the body.
I am afraid to try to paint it.
My buddy is going to our LHS next weekend. I can't go, I have family commitments. I think I am going to have him pick me up the paint and a reamer tool. I could order on Amazon but I'd rather support the shop.
This gives me time to make a final decision on the paint job and work up the courage to do it

First paint jobs are always stressful.
Some steps that are crucial, wash the body really well with soap and warm water. I personally use Dawn and have had good luck using it.
Once the body is dry thoroughly, apply the window masks. Ensure you check from the finish side to ensure they're stuck down good. I use the back side of my finger nails to help stick them down.
Once you have all that done, if it's a solid color then you're ready to go. If you're doing multiple colors then this is the point that you would lay that pattern down, be it stencil or something taped out.
I use a light behind the body to check to see if I can see light through it while painting. Things will look good then you hold it up to a light source and see a thin area.
You're doing excellent so far, I have complete faith in the next step. You're already heading in the right direction by picking up the right tools.
