Well guys,

I got through the breakin of my Collari B3. I am very impressed with this engine. It has more torque than my 24.7, and butt loads more top end than the 24.7. Once it gets up to around 230 or so it seems as if the torque drops off just a tad, which I think is because of the pipe I am using which is a Ofna 086. Most of my power is in the mid range, but the torque is still great. Gets up to speed very quickly and has a very smooth power band. Even after WOT in the tall grass and such it only got up to 235, but it likes to run at around 220 under normal running in 75F weather. It idles forever and could idle through a whole tank. I am really liking this engine, and seems as if it would make a great race engine.

Another thing that impressed me was the mileage. This engine will run forever on one tank. It ran for like 45 sec after there was no fuel in the tank! And no its not lean, if anything it is rich, runs at 220-230 usually. I got probably 12+ minutes on one 125cc tank, very impressive.

I can't imagine what it could do with a low end pipe...

Man, that sounds awesome, too bad I don't have a 1/8 buggy to put that mil in......

:OT: - wow...forum browsing on a widescreen notebook is awesome! We just picked up one the other day, and this is my 1st time using it since I have my own laptop...

Reading that makes me want to retire my Ofna O1 Comp for one of those. How much did it sell for?

185 brand new! ac48 got a smokin deal!!! can't wait till i get mine. I think i might go for the b7 lil more on the top end.

I'm gonna have to agree with ac on this one...i love this motor....but the real test is too see how long it'll last, hopefully forever lol

Well, Once I see how well it performs via your experiences, I'll look into getting one - maybe. But, for now, the good ol' Ofna works just fine. :)

Yea I got mine NIB for 185 on ebay, best deal I found. And sure the ol' Ofna works...but you could always get an engine that works better :D

And yea it better last a while at $185, I hear it does and even after breakin the engine still has soo much pinch I can't turn it over by hand even if the entire heat sink is off. Gotta love that. The only thing bad about it is sometimes my box can't turn it over until I get the piston out of TDC lol, a minor pain for such a great engnie.

I really love how long it lasts, I fill the tank and run it for a while, then I start getting worried that its about ready to run out because its been going for so long, so I bring it over and theres still a half a tank! Its great, Highly reccomended.

Hey guys, I have a few quick questions. My temp guage reads that my engine runs at around 220 most of the time, top temp was like 238 I think. There is tons of smoke pouring out the exhuast whenever I give it any throttle. But once it runs at 220 for a few minutes I start to loose just a tad of torque, still got tons of highend though. I got a pebble stuck in the flywheel area and my engine stalled, I went to restart it and no go. So I blew into the pressure line to make sure it had fuel but it boiled off once it got into the carb. So does this mean I am too hot on the LSN? It doesn't run hot at all and I am almost positive my guage is very close to the exact temp. Any ideas? I am going to try richening the LSN, but I haven't touched it since breakin so its still at factory settings.

Heh, you have no idea how many problems I've seen with ofnas; worked in a hobby shop, and nearly every one sold came back due to missing/bad o-rings in the carbs. Mine had a low speed needle leak that haunted me for weeks. Fixed that with an o-ring off my palm pilots' case...

But I digress; That's about what I paid for my O1, so the price seems fair enough... Keep everyone abreast on the performance of the engine over the coming weeks/months... I definately want to know how it holds up.

Right now all I have is a motorsaver air filter and I was told not to trust them, so I have been taking off the heat sink after every run. After the first two tanks there was a bunch of gunk on the piston, which I think was unburnt chunks of oil. They cleand right off and now the piston is shiny. I'm on tank like 8 or 9 and the piston is still looking brand new, and still sometimes gets stuck at TDC, although not as bad as when it was new. The only problems I have been having are in the post above yours HeartBreak, can anyone give me advice on that? I am going to try and richen the LSN and see if that helps any.

Trinity MHP 20%. I am almost out and can swith to 30% soon if that would help. I got like 1 and a half quarts left of 20%.

Does it load up a lot when you let it idle? Then it would be a little rich, but my guess it you may want to richen up the LSN an hour or 2 and see how it runs. BUT, my .26 needed more fuel on how the problem you describe, so its kinda hard to tell online!

Yea, I richend it like 1/8 of a turn and it still lost a tad of torque when it got up to temp, but it stalled and started right up again tho so I think I am set.

Mine was an o-ring that was just a hair too small on the low speed needle... I found it by pressurizing the engine with a can of compressed air... Kind of fun to watch the slide go *phttt*, hehe.

I've got one of the original motorsavers on all of my engines (the mushroom style) and have never had a problem with dirt getting through them.

I highly doubt that your engine has a bad LSN oring, unless they hired the person that did carb assembly from ofna to assemble yours...

It sounds just like your LSN needed to be adjusted.... If it's still at factory, it might just need a very slight leaning out (not even 1/16th of a turn).

AC how are you liking this thing so far? I'm looking to put one in my LSP, I'm torn between the SH .28 and the B3. Basically its the price thats keeping the sh in the mix. Comments?

I love my B3, but I think you may want to change the gearing if you put a B3 in the LSP, cause of the big wheels. Theres no doubt that the B3 would allow you to havemore high end that the SH, but I think the raw power of a .28 would be good. For a LSP, take a look at the Wasp .28, has tons of low and highend power.

As for the B3 in my buggy I am loving it. Its amazing how fast my buggy gets up to speed and holds it. Once my buggy gets going its hard to stop the B3 from going, hold the throttle open just a bit and it will keep on gaining speed. I live on a small, never really used road with dirt ditches along the sides. So I get some speed up on the road and turn into the dirt and at this speed the thing like skips over all the bumps lol, its a blast. It never gets hot either, stays at 230 even after WOT passes in dirt. I have never seen the top speed of this thing cause it just keeps on going. Its almost too fast so I think I may even try lowering a tooth on the CB to see how I like that, just for fun :). Don't get me wrong this thing has toooons of torque but thats what I love, acceleration.

O, and I may have a vid for you guys soon of my X-Terminator with B3/Ofna 086 combo. Which reminds me vbgagnon, if you put a low end pipe on there too, you would have a sick ass LSP with a B3/low end pipe combo.
