I have upgraded a Revo with a Wasp .28 using the New Era kit. I also installed a 3 shoe 1/8 scale clutch with this & 1/8 scale bell, the problem I have is that the clutch was VERY tight when installed ( I had to work to get the bell over the shoes)

What should I do to get these to fit beter, they are fully engaged all the time?

Pics please. I have yet to put a conversion like that. I used the sirio 23 but the block was a medium block still. Try using an 1/8 th scale Clutch bell.

I will get some pics posted, as for the bell I have used a 1/8 scale. Is there some way I assembled this wrong?

possibly. Have you checked your clutch nut? Have you checked the direction of the shoes? Did you clean out the CB? Springs in right? I would tear it down and do one by one and check .

All of the parts are new, I bought the Revo off E-Bay without a motor. As for the pics, I don't want to show off a shelf queen, so the pics will need to wait untill I can put some dirt on it. Thanks for the ideas.

ARe you sure the CB shoes are engaging? You may have the set up shimmed incorrectly. Remove the screw and spin the cb. Does it spin freely?let me know what happens.

I am not sure the clutch is put together correctly. I have not done a new install before, I have only replaced shoes & springs & swapped the bells before. I do think something was not right as I had to "fit" (slightly compress the shoe springs) to get the bell on.

What brand of clutch/flywheel and clutch bell are you using? Sounds like something is either off, or the bell is too small.

I am not sure if I switched the brands so I could have them switched

New Era - 3 shoe fly wheel
Trinity - carbon shoes & "hard" springs
OFNA - 15 tooth bell

Here is the info on the flywheel

REV519 details:

3 Pin Aluminum 40mm Diameter Flywheel: For 1/8 Scale Type Clutch Low profile flywheel is thin enough to leave space for a 1/8 scale style clutch assembly. Most 1/8 clutch shoes and clutch drums will work . Non pull or pull start.

Includes: custom flywheel and custom brass cone.

I bought all this together so the parts (i hope) would fit together...

I did call & talk to them about this before I bought this. I told them I would like to use a 3 shoe clutch & went with the recommendation they made.

clutch assembly

Hey can you give me some part numbers that you are using? I just bought a wasp .28 engine for my revo and I need to set up the clutch assembly and I'm not too sure of what to get for it.
Thanks

This doesn't sound right. The springs should hold the shoes completely closed. You should not be able to compress the shoes. It sounds like the spring or shoes are installed wrong.
